For anyone reading these negative posts about the alleged meat van, this is a straight up lie. These reviewers took a screen shot off an instagram page who posted this van with meat in it claiming to be from Howong slamming their reputation when the truck was not even associated with that restaurant. The instagram poster boldly assumed and posted this video giving this family restaurant hate it did not deserved and spread lies across the internet. Don’t believe everything you see especially from reviews that have the same screen shot from instagram and not a photo the reviewers took themselves. This family is wonderful and hardworking and would never do something of this sort. To anyone reading this don’t believe anyone who posted that screen shot photo of a meat van. It is misleading and sad people don’t have anything better to do with their time. I myself can back saying this family owned restaurant is worth a visit and their food is fresh and the atmosphere is wonderful. I have lived in the area my whole life and never not once have seen meat being delivered to them in a van. Keep strong and...
Read moreMy favorite go to Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn. I haven't been here in about 5 years as I relocated outside of NY. I returned to order my favorites and was not disappointed. The food was hot, fresh, not salty like other restaurants, and we all ate like we were going to the electric chair. I do recommend the Peking Duck, a little greasy, which is normal for duck, but so delicious. The Pork Chop Peking Style was on the money, how I have missed this sauce and the tender chops. The Walnut Shrimp was huge, and the fruity sauce was perfection. I also ordered the Beef Chow Fun, a little greasy but overall, very good. If you are looking for a Chinese Restaurant for seafood, this is the place! Take a walk into the rear of the restaurant where the fish tanks are, they will take a fresh fish, lobster, crab, eel, whatever you want and cook it. What is fresher than that? If you like dim sum, get here early as when I arrived in mid afternoon, after 3pm, everything was gone... They also have roast pork, roast pig, chicken, soy sauce chicken, duck, and spare ribs in the front...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and it remains one of the few places that still serves truly authentic, traditional Cantonese cuisine. Their roast pork and dim sum are unbeatable: crispy skin, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned every time. Even though it’s out of the way for me, I gladly make the trip because it’s that worth it.
Recently, there’s been an unfortunate misunderstanding circulating online. A photo of raw pork being handled improperly near the area was wrongly associated with this restaurant. Let’s be clear, this assumption is baseless and completely out of context. This is an establishment that has built its reputation over decades with consistent quality, cleanliness, and care. If they were truly handling food inappropriately, they would have been shut down long ago.
It’s disappointing to see such a respected local business being dragged into something it had no part in. Don’t let rumors steer you away from a gem. If you know good food and care about supporting hardworking local restaurants, this place deserves your...
