If I could give them 0 stars I would. But to put this complaint in I have to give at least 1 star My daughter contacted the Spa to make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure for 3 children. All she was asked was how many kids would be in attendance, she said 3. When she arrived at the spa with her daughter, a little friend d and my grandson. She was told by the manager that they do not service boys unless they are included in a party package. The manager/owner Althea Chase stated they do not put boys in pink robes and sit them in pink chairs. All of this was done in front of my grandson and he was made to cry. Now business practices are business practices and if it was listed on the website or if my daughter was told over the phone that boys are not allowed she would have never brought my grandson to the establishment to be humiliated. As a matter of fact she would have never patronized the business. The manager believes and stated that because it says princessesit should be assumed by the customer that boys are not allowed. Discrimination is discrimination. The manager should at least be mor observant when speaking in front of children. She needs customer service training. My daughter should have been pulled to the side out of ear shot of my grandson or even told this over the phone. But everyone can not be taught etiquette.
The purpose of a REVIEW is for people to give their experiences on a business. I can appreciate what the business owner is doing for little girls and I nor my family is expecting the policy to change. People's beliefs are just that their beliefs. I can not tell the owner how to run her business. But when I called the owner myself due to my grandson crying there was no apology given, nor was there one given when he was crying in front of the owner. As a I believe that questions on gender should be asked when a family is booking an appointment regarding gender and not assumed by the patron what the business means. I can bring several men that will tell u the feel like a "princess". If the patron comes into the establishment not having an understanding of the unspoken procedures, then the adult should be pulled to the side out of ear shot from the child. As a Social Worker I am sure you can appreciate that. My families review of your business was not based on its practices, but on its customer service. My daughter went on Instagram to give her review and express her anger and I am glad that you have her post because that means that you have that of your employees going back and forth with her. Making both sides wrong at some point. As a mother and as someone who deals with the public on a regular, I let my daughter know where she went wrong. So as an employer and someone who also deals with the public on a regular I hope you let your employees know where they went wrong. All I ask is for an apology for my grandson being humiliated. I wish you nothing but success in...
Read moreIt's been 2 days and I still can't stop thinking about how absolutely AMAZING the experience was at Fresh as a Daisy Spa. I was impressed with the space when I went to visit and secure a reservation for my daughter's 6th birthday party two weeks prior. Both the owner and staff were professional when they gave us a tour and informed us of all the party packages available. I walked away feeling like I definitely chose the right place!!! The space is pretty much a little girls room on steroids and I especially appreciated all the quotes and words of encouragement posted throughout the spa. The spa does a great job of building self esteem and instilling positive values in every little girl that walks through the door. The day of the party, I was truly BLOWN AWAY, the entire staff treated the girls like princesses from the time they walked in the door. They greeted them, took their coats and shoes off, gave them robes and flip flops and escorted them to their services (manicure/pedicure/facials/makeup). My daughter chose a Shimmer & Shine theme for her party and the birthday table was beautifully decorated with plates/cups/party favors and dolls. The staff was patient, encouraging and did excellent work. From the jeweled manicures and pedicures, to the facials and glitter makeup and red carpet fashion show, all the girls were in heaven. All the parents were in disbelief at how wonderful everything was and equally impressed with the attention to detail. As a parent, I was also happy that I did not need to do ANYTHING but bring my daughter and her cupcakes (Lol) because everything else was taken care of. If I could give Fresh as a Daisy 10 stars I would!! This is a hidden gem in Brooklyn so do not hesitate to book your daughters party here, you will NOT be disappointed and its worth...
Read moreI was one of the very first supporters of Fresh As Daisy Kids Spa & Salon LLC when they first opened their doors. We celebrated my daughters 4th birthday there. (She is 8 now). I told Tia I would like the Doc McStuffins theme & she supplied everything for my party. I literally only had to bring the Cake, The Food, & The Girls. I had a lot of family that came out to celebrate but we never overstepped and respected the fact that the SPA part was specifically for the little princesses in the party. We all had a great time, staff was incredible and professional at all times. They were all patient and there to cater to the needs of the party. My daughter, Myself, Family, & Friends all enjoyed the experienced and was promoting the SPA everywhere! I literally had about 10 mutual families visit with their princesses and it was always happy faces after. I give Fresh As Daisy Kids Spa LLC a 10 For Customer Service, Communication, Professionalism, Empowerment, Patience, Cleanliness, Knowledge, Positivity, Punctuality, & Dedication. I love this company, I love what it stands for, & I love seeing the smiles on all the little girls faces that gets to be a Princess and reminded of how beautiful, smart, & important she is. This place makes our young ladies feel magical and safe. I will continue to support Fresh As Daisy Kids Spa LLC & I will continue to promote for other little girls to get to experience greatness. KEEP UP THE GREAT...
