JR SPA — Local services in New York

So I booked a late night appointment of 8:45pm for my husband. He’s been there before and thought the service was decent and ideal the first handful of times so he’s been going back. Tonight was a shock for both of us on how terrible the service was. He arrived a few minutes late so Julie (or so her name sounds like) took the minutes off the hour and still charged for the hour. Which wouldn’t be super horrible if the massage was actually good. I don’t know if she was just tired but it was just awful. She had no strength even tho she was informed that he required deep tissue. After it was over, he felt no different than when he went in. She demanded a tip and wanted $20-$30 dollars. And said if he wanted a stamp, he needed to tip around that amount for it. So stamps need to be paid for then? She also told him to tell the boss not to ask for her moving forward. This is beyond rude and unprofessional. Honestly if she didn’t want to do the job then just tell us over the phone not to come. I have chronic back pain and sciatic issues that just leave me feeling defeated. I'm currently recovering from a tri mal ankle fracture and Young was so accommodating. I called to schedule an appointment and he listened to what I had to say and made me feel welcomed immediately. Upon arrival, he helped me get up the stairs step by step, the first time I've walked up stairs in two months. During our consultation he made sure to ask me what hurts and where I wanted his attention. During the massage he was so respectful and made me feel comfortable, asking if I was okay with the pressure. He really made me feel seen and heard. I've never had such an attentive masseuse! He was friendly and humorous the whole time too. Thank you Young, I will be a regularly returning customer. After one session, I feel so much more movement in my back that I didn't have before. I can only imagine how I'll feel...

They are nice people. But my experience was not good at all. I paid for full body massage for my husband and I for one hour. We only got back massages, I tried telling the ladies massaging us , but both didn’t understand. Paid for 1 hour facial , she didn’t wanna scrub or exfoliate my face. 1 hour of her just massage different types of products into my face. Came back home the way I left. I paid for both services regardless, but I didn’t tips so the guy at the desk said it was how they get paid. No, they should get pay with the money I pay. If not satisfied with the service, I shouldnt have to tips. In situations like this , tips should be earned. Not mandatory. Never will I go...
