Korean food is red hot in 2024. On one end, there’s modern upscale Korean cuisine that strives to go after Michelin stars. On the other end, there’s Korean street food making a big splash. Ttekokki (or Topoki - I prefer this spelling) is at the pinnacle of Korean street food and if you are a big fan of this particular cuisine, then you will immediately notice this restaurant makes the best Topoki in NY. The restaurant name is now changed to Shindangdong Topoki. Shindangdong is the name of town in Seoul known for special type of Topoki. And this small restaurant miraculously replicates the authentic Topoki from Shindangdong. 1980’s style. As a huge fan of Topoki, this place was such a treat. I have no problem making a trip here from NJ, paying tolls at GW bridge & Throgs Neck. I will be back soon.

It’s no longer called Nawabari. I've been here multiple times exclusively for their king kimbap. Their kimbaps are so good with lots of filling and minimal rice as I prefer. Wide variety and great price point as well. I believe they also market themselves for their ddukbokki, but their ddukbokki was a bit of a letdown for me. It was too soupy for my liking and the rice cakes used were very thin with a lack of texture (vs. thick and chewy).

The food was cooked and delivered, but the preparation and delivery times were long, so the food was sloppy. The ramen inside the tteokbokki had swelled up like udon and absorbed all the broth, making it very dry and tasteless. The tuna kimbap had so little tuna that it felt like there was barely any. Very disappointing. I had no choice but to throw away 80% of the food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 신당동 즉석떡볶이 왕김밥플러싱, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The ambiance was inviting and elegant, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, providing top-notch service throughout the meal.

Now, let's talk about the food—absolute perfection! Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with exquisite flavors. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, every bite was a delightful culinary journey. The chef's attention to detail and use of fresh, high-quality ingredients truly shone through in every dish.

What truly sets this restaurant apart is its commitment to excellence in every aspect. Whether it's the ambiance, service, or food quality, everything exceeded my expectations. Dining here felt like more than just a meal; it was an indulgent, unforgettable experience.

I highly recommend 신당동 즉석떡볶이 왕김밥플러싱 to anyone seeking a refined dining experience. It's the perfect place for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself to extraordinary cuisine and impeccable service. I can't wait to visit again and explore more of their...

Around 7:40 in the evening, I tried to buy kimbap, but they said I had to purchase over $15 to pay with a card, and if I didn't spend more than $15, I had to pay in cash. This means I couldn't pay with a card for just the kimbap, which costs around $8-9. So I thought of buying tteokbokki, which was $6, to meet the $15 requirement, but it was sold out. I'm not sure if it was a staff member or the owner, but they showed no sign of apology and simply said I couldn't pay with a card for just the kimbap without suggesting any alternatives. I ultimately had to leave without buying anything. It seems inappropriate to set a minimum purchase amount for card payments and push customers to pay in cash. The kimbap shop, which appears to be gaining in popularity, should have a more appreciative attitude and be kinder to...
