Read moreLarge-scale entertainment complex with separate events simultaneously hosted. Great outdoor area for summer events. It's a one-hour 26-mile toll laden drive from NJ. Considering nightlife in Manhattan is venue-starved post it's climatic demise late 90s early 2000s. The (basement portion) is a cavernous dark playground for voyeurs and exhibitionists while maintaining credibility in the "EDM" /house music culture. Buy tickets for your preferred events way early as they sell out weeks in advance. They have an outdoor waiting area in which they eventually sell tickets/admissions to non ticket holders. Great locker rental concept vs. The coat room gives you a home base to store your belongings, and you can go back and forth all night. Cell phone cameras are prohibited, and they apply an adhesive block over both cameras to promote anonymity. If caught using a camera, you are subject to ejection. It is reminiscint of the old west side of Manhattan type of venue located in a large former manufacturing campus rather than an old warehouse that was more typical in the folklore of the NYC west side night life district. Security was present but not oppressive. There are lots of dark corners where participants can choose to "participate" or watch. The security policy clearly promotes safety and consent within that arena. Sound is decent, lighting is simple and not too theatrical. A fun stop for someone seeking a taste of what once was in abundance in Manhattan with a modern twist representing this generations more gender fluid themes. This really is a judgment free zone as all are welcome to be who they want to be and to do what they want as long as those around them are willing to...
Read moreBeautiful space but was waaaaaaayyy to hot to enjoy the show. And they charge $5 for a bottle of water too boot so you can’t freely hydrate. I would typically be in the pit and get sweaty but we were too hot even just standing in the back— literally dripping sweat. There were fans above us on the ceiling that weren’t on and there was no circulation whatsoever. We tried going outside to breathe- but that was of course the smoking section and over crowded bc of the heat inside so it didn’t provide much relief. We would go into the bathroom bc that was the coolest temp in the whole venue. Missed plenty of the show and left early because we couldn’t bear it. Too bad because it was an impressive space. Security is very tight- they open your bag and open every little case or zipper you have. The women searching my bag told me she was tired and didn’t want to be there, and was complaining about the heat. I felt bad for the employees but then quickly realized there was no air anywhere in the spot. As other reviews say, you stand in a lot of separate slow lines to get in- and the employees are not efficient. I don’t blame them if the owner/manager isn’t concerned about anyones comfort. I’ve been to hundreds of shows and festivals across my life, and this was def out of the ordinary and problematic. It shouldn’t be legal to host events like that in the indoor space during the summer if you don’t have any air. If I had known I would have not...
