KOYSTUDIO — Local services in New York

To preface this review: I absolutely love getting my nails done. I also have tried it all! Acrylics, gel, gel-x, smart mani, super expensive, less expensive, natural nails, DIY, and all the likes. Never in my life have I experienced a manicure like this. I came to KOYSTUDIO on a whim — I was in the city visiting family, and I knew I wanted to have a self care moment. I was a little hesitant on the pricing, but honestly have paid a lot more money for a lot less quality (like acrylics or gel-x w design). I booked an appointment online, and on the day of I asked if I could come in earlier. This studio was SO accommodating and prompt in their reply. Also located in a really unique spot in Astoria. When I got there, I got the royalty treatment. Masha talked me through the whole Russian Manicure (I never got one before) and was so so sweet and gentle and HELPFUL! I showed her an inspo pic, and she nailed it. Actually, I think she did even better. Just be prepared — you’re in for the long haul w a Russian Mani. This appt was literally 2 hours (maybe a bit more) but SO WORTH ITT. I got these nails done a while back, and I wanted to wait a bit before I wrote a review (because I forgot) and also I wanted to see how long they would last. These nails withstood food service shifts, sweaty weighted workouts, travel, all the likes. Trust — these nails lasted. It was all thanks to Masha’s expert attention to detail and care. She selected the perfect colors, spent such quality time on my cuticles and the bare nail before even touching color. Each finger got the deluxe treatment, not to mention a serious pampering all around. Edit: after I wrote my original 5 star review the owner told me “I must have a lot of time on my hands”. The service began to decline and her prices continued to soar time and time again. I left after paying $165 for a manicure that I no longer felt was reasonable. I also observed a lot of poor customer service and disregard for the client experience. Katy, I wish you well, but please take better care of your loyal customers so they stop leaving you.

Cute little hidden gem in Astoria💅🏼✨ I've been coming here for almost 2 years and I haven't gone back to any other salon since! I refuse to. Everyone needs to try Russian manicure, trust me you won't go back to anything else 😏My nails have become so strong and YES the color lasts up to 5 weeks! Even with no hard gel. Yes it's pricey but that's 100% worth it for me. Also, can we mention that my cuticles have never been cleaner/healthier and nail polish never chips?!
