If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would! I am eternally grateful anytime I am able to eat in what feels like a chefs home, that sitting down feels like a hug from the chef themself. Kam Rai Thai is unique, creative and immersive as can be. Family owned and operated by head Chef Oak, I am humbled by his ambitions, talents and creativity. Cuisine inspired by all 4 regions of Thailand, Chef Oak combines techniques of cooking from other cultures to create Thai dishes. “Taste is subjective and what l’ve tried to cook now is merely contemporary tastes of varied dishes from every part of Thailand.” - @chefoak.marprasert 🙏
Each drink & dish is inspired by a various region⛰️✨
✨ Korat Eggnog ✨ Fang Martini Time
We got to indulge, experience & learn about dishes such as:
✨Ayutthaya Boat Noodle Nuea✨ Beef shank, bean sprout, basil, and meatball in beef blood soup. Although my pallet is not quite ready for such cuts of meat, the broth was comforting, sweet & very much like the season. Rich enjoyed every single slurp & said it was something he would absolutely eat again. He loves different cuts of meat paired with comforting broths, this was perfect for him.
✨Khao Soi Gai Confit✨ Chicken confit served with Northern Thai styled curry soup, red onion, cilantro, dried chili oil, & pickled cabbage.
✨Luk Chin Ping✨ Grilled meatballs served with Sam rod sauce.
✨Chiangmai Sausage✨ Sai ua or Northern Thai sausage is a grilled pork sausage from Northern Thailand.
Chef and his wife are so humble, kind and welcoming. I truly enjoyed every moment of being at Kam Rai Thai. I highly recommend and encourage you check them out for yourself!

Read moreMy cousin and I stopped by for the first time on a Friday night, and let me just say—this place is a new fav. The decor is absolutely stunning, and the intimate atmosphere made for the perfect setting for our cousin catch-up. The service? Beyond incredible! From the friendly waitstaff to the chef, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic evening.
But what will keep me coming back is the food. We started with the summer rolls and scallion pancakes. The summer rolls were fresh and light, a perfect start to the meal, though the peanut sauce wasn’t my favorite (probably just my personal taste as I’ve never been big on peanut sauce). The scallion pancakes, however, were flawless—crispy, soft, and packed with flavor. The dipping sauce was the star of the dish!
For our mains, we had the papaya salad and crispy duck. The papaya salad was refreshing and vibrant, full of fresh flavors. The crispy duck was perfection—the skin was just the right amount of crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. The sauce over the vegetables was delicious, pairing beautifully with the duck and white rice. I added a side of chili pepper for a bit of spice, which took the dish to another level. Everything was simply cooked to perfection!
When it came to drinks, we started with the Yala Cha Chuck and Rainfall in Loei—both were fantastic. I later tried the Samui Blue Island, which was a bit too sweet for me, but still enjoyable. My cousin loved her Fang Martini Time. I also tried their Halloween special, ‘Kiss Me in the Dark.’ It wasn’t for me, but tequila fans should definitely give it a go! I swapped it for a whisky sour, which was spot on.
Overall, an amazing experience and I’ll...
Read moreWe came here based on the good reviews. My experience may be an outlier but it convinced me never to return considering so many other great Thai spots in the city. We ordered the papaya salad, shrimp spring rolls, crispy duck, crab fried rice and a Thai iced tea. The first sign of trouble was when the drink and appetizers took 30 minutes to be served. The Thai iced tea had a bug frozen in one of the ice cubes which I only noticed after drinking half of it. I notified the server and he promptly replaced my drink, but acted like it was no big deal. The drink itself was nothing special and was pretty watered down. The spring rolls were good but the amount of sauce provided was absolutely insufficient and they were flavorless once the sauce ran out. I could have asked for more sauce but the waiter was nowhere to be found and never checked up on us. The papaya salad was drenched in what I presume to be fish sauce which is unlike any papaya salad I've ever had. Maybe it is authentic, but it was so salty that it was unbearable to eat. I asked the server to take it away and did not want a replacement since it took forever for it to come out in the first place. The entrees took another 30 to 40 minutes to come out and I had to find the server to ask about it several times. Meanwhile, we saw many take out orders being fulfilled so that showed me where the priorities were. The crispy duck was just ok but the crab fried rice was actually very good. When we were finished, I asked the server if we could have a discount for the huge delay and the bug found in my drink. He refused. I paid the full bill and left,...
