Delicious food! Everything was so tasty and not overwhelming. We got the butter chicken, tellicherry pepper chicken, samosa chaat, and tandoori naan for 2 people and ate every single bite of it! So fast that we forgot to get photos because of how delicious the food was lol. Already planning to go back soon.
We didn’t get any this time but the drinks are also reasonably priced. Beer is $6, liquor is $6-8, and cocktails were no more than $14, most of them at $10 per cocktail. Will definitely try the drinks next time.
Nepalese isn’t our usual go-to cuisine but this place was on our radar for a while and we finally gave it a try. My only regret is not going sooner- this place is awesome! Service was friendly and attentive and the space is large enough to not be noisy. It was a great, peaceful meal at the restaurant with amazing food.
Even if you’re not a usual fan of Nepalese, Indian, or Tibetan food, there’s something for everyone. The tastes aren’t extreme and even for our milder palettes we were so impressed. Definitely recommend giving...
Read moreThe restaurant was relatively empty when we went, which should’ve been a sign not to go. The waitress didn’t refill our water once or clear any plates and instead asked me to make space on our table. The food was bland and looked unappealing. The coconut chicken—usually one of my favorite curries—was nearly inedible and had no flavor or salt. Was quite like biting into a raw coconut. Upon paying for the check, the waitress asked what was wrong with the curry since I hadn’t eaten any of it. When I mentioned the blandness, the waitress said I could’ve asked for a different spice level since they “cater to American flavor,” but she never told me that when I ordered.
The samosa chaat was basically just chickpeas—no samosa, no sauce, nothing else—and the pani puri was powdery. The only good things were the naan and mango lassi. I’m genuinely shocked this place has 4.9 stars since it was some of the worst food and service I have ever received. We are Nepali and would recommend any other Nepali place in New York...
Read moreThe best Nepalese/Indian food we ate in the United States and our best culinary experience in New York City! My wife and I stopped by on our way from the airport as we read all the great reviews. "A lot of people come because they read such nice reviews and then they end up coming here more often" said the waitress, with a very warm presence and smile. As soon as the food came, we understood why... Everything was prepared fresh, wonderful smell of the spices and the food was DELICIOUS! All the staff are Nepalese, and they are extremely nice and friendly! The chef came to ask how the food was with a big smile, and one of the waiters showed us a video he filmed while driving his motorcycle in the mountains in Nepal. A few days later, as we didn't have the time to sit at the restaurant, we ordered the food to take away and it was as good as we remembered it! We absolutely will be back at this restaurant when in New York and we recommend every single person to come and enjoy their delicious food and...
