Nikos Koutras Greek Band — Local services in New York

My wife and I were fortunate to have had the Nikos Koutras band at our wedding a few weeks ago. And every part of the experience was INCREDIBLE.

Nikos was easy to work with in the planning process, speaking with us on the phone multiple times to map out the evening and suggesting songs. No song is off limits for Nikos and his band. They can play everything! In addition, Nikos worked smoothly with our DJ, alternating sets throughout the evening. He and his band members engaged with our guests and family, adding so much intangible value to our reception.

When it comes to the music itself, there is no one better. Nikos' voice is amongst the best you can get in the USA, Greece, and the world. His bandmates are also experts at their craft - the female backup vocalist sang beautifully and the bouzouki player was the best I've ever heard play.

Even if you're not local to NY, Nikos and his band are well worth it for any wedding or event!...

I reached out to Nikos Koutras about live music for a small wedding—just a couple of performers for a low-key afternoon event at a local restaurant. From the start, the prices he quoted were wildly out of touch with reality and were more than what many professionals, including lawyers and doctors, make per hour. When I tried to find a more modest setup that fit our budget, I was met with a condescending explanation about why lower-cost musicians aren’t “real professionals.”

He made it clear he had no interest in recommending anyone who might charge less, implying that anyone who treats music as something other than a full-time career isn’t worth hiring. The tone came across as pompous and dismissive, and the whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth.

OUTSTANDING! Nikos and his team are extremely talented and professional. Throughout our entire planning process, Nikos was responsive, attentive to every detail, and extremely patient and kind. Every email we sent Nikos was answered within 6 hours. It is clear that Nikos and every member of his team take pride in their work. We had a band and DJ Phil at our wedding; everyone danced: both Greek and American people, and we had the best night of our lives.
