To whoever stumbles upon this review, and you are planning on shopping at La Bella, PLEASE check your receipt!! And I'll explain why.
I usually buy lots of groceries and my receipts be lengthy so I don't bother checking them (it's bad I know). Then a few months ago, I only bought about 5 small items and my total was $30. I paid, but I was puzzled. I checked my receipt quickly afterwards and realized the items that were on "sale" marked as 2 for $4, ended up charging me the original price at $5 each. I brought it to their attention that these items said it was on sale. The lady went to the aisle to check and I was right. it indeed said it was 2 for $4 so she fixed it and gave me the refund. No problem there.
I went in 2 more times a few weeks after and the same thing happened both times. I was charged the original price and not the sale price... I wasn't mad or anything, I just assumed that my La Bella club card wasn't working (even though I opened it in the summer, but oh wells). I just thought that was the case. They fixed the discount for me both times.
Then a 3 days ago, it happened again. The bacon said it was on sale for $2.99 , but I was charged $4.19 for it. I know its like a dollar difference, but its just not right. Its not ethical. And the dollar differences can add up each time. I asked the cashier if my club card is the problem and she said no ur membership card went through, the discount should've showed.
Which led me to believe that La Bella put these items up for "sale", but will charge you the original price knowing people don't check their receipts. Unless they forgot to change the discount in their computer system?? But this happened to me 4 times in a row, so there are absolutely no excuse to explain why each time the discount wasn't rendered into the system. And the cashiers have no idea about this so it's not their fault either.
I suggest putting the sale items and discounts in the system BEFORE listing them up for sale to the public. Or maybe they just never planned on doing that. Please be careful. Check your receipts. Or stay away from La Bella. Very ashamed and disappointed in the management of this...
Read moreOn Sunday September 15, 2024 I shopped at LA Bella. I spent over $382.00. Which I don't care what I spend. Every time I shop; I always look at the dates. I purchased a Sausage Pepper and onion Empanada, which the date says use by 9/20/2024. HONESTLY, I didn't look at the bottom being the date said "USE BY 9/20/24. TODAY, 9/16,2024, I went to open it for lunch and it was GREEN MOLDED ON THE BOTTOM. Honestly, I didn't turn it over to look at the bottom. I cashed the store at exactly 2:27 pm (the time is in my phone) and a lady answered. I explained the situation to her, and told her I dint have my receipt but I used my LA Bella card so you'll be able to see the purchase. Her response was, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE DATE ON THE CONTAINER SAYS. IF YOU PURCHASED IT ON SUNDAY YOU HAD TO EAT IT BY NO LATER THAN MONDAY AFTERNOON. That response shocked me. My question to her was, then why does your store put dates on their did if you have to i eat it within 24 hours as you just stated. Please, it's not the $4.99 that I care about. It's the principal of selling with a specific date but then taking the customer the date doesn't matter.

Read morePoor customer service. No greeting from management but they are all looking at what you have in your shopping cart (to see how much you are spending.) Get to the cashier there is a row of managers staring down the cashiers and the customers during checkout. Unfortunately this is typical in Italian American stores and I am Italian. The cashier is ok but as she is ringing up a bag of apples this female manager starts yelling at our cashier about why is that bag of apples only $2 and change? Mind you the apples were on sale for 79 cents a pound. She never looked at me or my mother and she lowered her mask to yell when she was less than 6 ft from all of us. Then there was another cafone checking the price on a computer to make sure. The price was correct and it was very awkward and not a store I would shop in again. Also they had a mountain of cardboard boxes but would not give us one to pack our order because they are for “phone order deliveries” but the truth is they just want you to buy their reusable bags and advertise their store because there was a long 7ft high stack of compacted boxes outside waiting for recycle pickup. impazzito...
