I started working in the area and one morning I was too early for work and I didn’t have breakfast that morning. I walked around the area to see what was available and even though bakeries aren’t my first option (I’m not a morning sweets person), I decided to have a go at it. I should have asked if they had a roll with butter but my eyes went straight to a strawberry cheese danish. I was shocked that I asked for one. I was even more shocked at the price. Something under $2 in nyc? Unheard of! I asked for it bag less and decided to eat and walk since I was on the run. The first bite stopped me in my tracks. It was fresh out of the oven. The strawberry jam tasted real and the cheese was nice and fluffy. The size for me was big so I ate half and saved the rest for lunch.
