Unprofessional Conduct and Disregard for Patient Well-being
I recently had a scheduled appointment at the Labcorp facility for blood tests prescribed by my doctor. Despite checking in 30 minutes early via the self-service kiosk around 1:30 pm, I did not receive the confirmation text for my blood specimen collection.
Concerned, I called the facility at 2:30 pm and spoke with a clerk named Mauly. She advised me to come inside before their 3 pm closing time. However, upon entering, I was shocked to witness Mauly prioritizing walk-in patients who arrived after me, despite having no appointments.
Adding to my frustration, despite being aware that I had been fasting for 12 hours before my appointment and was feeling weakened, Mauly kept me waiting for an extended period and callously ignored my scheduled appointment.
When I questioned this discrepancy, Mauly not only disregarded my concerns but also displayed disrespectful behavior. Despite my patient explanation, she not only ignored my appointment but also began taking in walk-ins who hadn't made any prior arrangements.
Things escalated when I requested Mauly's name for accountability purposes. Shockingly, she refused to provide her real name and abruptly canceled my appointment. This entire ordeal was not only unprofessional but left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a patient.
I strongly urge potential visitors to this Labcorp facility to be cautious of their appointment system and the treatment they might receive, particularly from Mauly. Such behavior is unacceptable in a healthcare setting, and my hope is that this feedback prompts necessary changes to ensure a more respectful and organized...
Read moreToday was my first time to this location during pandemic Covid-19. There's no hand sanitizer in patient waiting area or inside the rooms. They were playing video on TV near the Express check in that how lab Corp is disinfecting everything during covid 19 but I've not seen them disinfecting the Express check in screens at all, no one cleaned it after a patient checked in before me and 3 patients checked in after me as I was sitting there. We all are touching the same screen, for same options at the same place on the screen n there's no hand sanitizer near it or anywhere at all that u can sanitize ur hands after self Express check in. I went there cos it was the closest location from my home but I would not go back there. And i had painful experience. Myself being a phlebotomist I could tell this female tech was not much experienced, n it really hurt me whereas I've myself done 64-70 patients a day just by myself in the hospital where I work n I always get to hear I'm painless n my regular patients won't let other techs touch them. I had covid test done at Pro Health urgent care on Amboy n Richmond Ave couple days prior to my this visit to Lab Corp today, I would say that medical assistant had much more softer hand than this Lab Corp Phlebotomist I'm not a person who leaves reviews but it really...
Read moreSo, I went into LabCorp at 4434 Amboy Rd, 2nd Floor, Staten Island today for some routine blood work—fully expecting a headache after reading a bunch of bad reviews. People were complaining about long waits, dismissive staff, bruises from needles… basically everything you hope to avoid when going in for a simple test .
But, wow—I can’t believe how smoothly it went instead. From the moment I walked in, everyone was polite and on point. The check-in process was quick (no kiosk confusion or awkward delays), and right after that, I got called for the draw. The phlebotomist was patient and found my vein on the first try—zero bruises courtesy of her steady hand and friendly reassurance .
Honestly, the whole visit was easy and painless. No drama, no rude behavior—just professional and caring service. It makes me wonder if maybe the lab has had some staffing or scheduling hiccups that led to earlier complaints, but I can only speak for today—and today was great.
So if you're reading negative reviews and hesitating, don’t let that stop you. Today’s experience was solid, and I’m feeling confident recommending this place—in my case, it was the total opposite of what the reviews had me...
