Avocado Sushi — Restaurant in New York

Very clean and pleasant. We happened to be there around noon, so the place was really empty. Empty to the point no one geated us at the entrance, I guess they just didn't expect anyone this early. Once we were noticed, the service was really fast. The menu is interesting, but I felt a little on the overpriced side. The food we chose was very fresh and tasty, the servings were a good size, the soup and salad came really fast. There was some minor confusion with my order, but it wasn't malicious, I think the server just misunderstood, and she apologized. No hard feelings. They offer no free refills for soft drinks, but it was unannounced when we were offered refills. Overall a very pleasant impression. I think we found aonther favorite place for lunch. Oh, and they deliver. While we were there, a lot of pick up orders and Grubhub orders were placed. I wish, I could give them 4.5 stars, but they are not quiet a 5...

We used to go there weekly. At first the service was great really loved the food. Than suddenly they stopped checking to see if our water was filled ... terrible service! One day my boyfriend ordered a pretty pricey roll that on their menu said there was tuna in it. We get the roll, and there was nothing but imitation crab in it! We nicely said this wasn't what we ordered. We ordered a roll with tuna in it. She said "sorry that's our fault typo in menu". No refund or no offer to give us another roll. We decided not to tip the owner who btw was our waiter too. Instead we tipped the sushi chef. We pay our bill and walk out. He came out after us telling us we didn't tip him! Furiated! We will never return there ever again . They lost very loyal...

This restaurant is overrated. And they like to charge extra every chance they get. They are disorganized and way too slow. I’ve waited over 45 minutes for my food more than once and they act like that’s acceptable if they’re “busy” (which they weren’t). And that’s not even for delivery! If you ask for a cheaper item (example: no shrimp, extra chicken) to be substituted, they upcharge you for the “inconvenience”!?!? They once charged me $1 for an extra 2 oz of tempura sauce too, and said that’s the owners policy! That’s just bad business.
