LIFE CARE AMBULETTE — Local services in New York

I do not understand why this ambulette service is called Life Care, their service is seriously below par of anything; the name is very misleading.

Late all the time, many of the operators are unprofessional and dangerous drivers. When late; if you call the dispatcher, he either lies about how much longer you'd have to wait, or not pick up the phone at all. I once waited almost 2 hours before the driver arrived. I could have walked home and back to the hospital at least 4-5 times in that amount of time.

Often, some of these unconcerned drivers arrive with a dirty ambulette. One drivers is always eating, and it is usually something that stinks up the vehicle. Others have the music so loud I can hear it with my $300 noise cancelling ear buds. Another one picks me up after shopping and is always on the phone. This is how I know, because she had mentioned this " Yes, I picked up everything before picking up my last passenger. Very unprofessional. Another point to take into consideration is that some of the drivers show up on extremely hot days (90° to be exact) with the air conditioner off. I had to ask that it be turned on. It must have been at least 95° in the ambulette. Absolutely pathetic 😒!

This is one of the worst company. I'm wheelchair bound with spain injury and I have been left for hours waiting to be picked up. Resendly I was admitted to the hospital because this company neglected to pick me at a timely matter and I was picked up,the driver was told pick up another client who also was waiting for hours. This delayed me from reaching home on time to take my meds (sciatic nerve pain). The driver called dispatch informed,I need to go to the hospital, the dispatch told him to pullover and call 911. The driver was less than five mins from the hospital. The driver refuse and drove me to the hospital. Thank you so much Kevin, after God, you saved my life. I will forever thank God for you. I've had amazing experience with the few driver's who's picked me up and they know who they are. Thank you to you all. As for Life Care, shame on you! To have a powerful name Life Care and yet you're playing with people's lives (I could've lost my life, God forbid). People's lives is worth more than just (money) business. If the rating would've allow me to give this company a negative star, I would have. The worst of the worst transportation service. Here is my list of complaints: Unprofessional drivers ETA is not ETA be prepared to be picked up at your appointment time (ex appt 10. Pickup 9. The driver will pick you up at 10 or even 10:30.) And they will inform you the driver is 5-15 minutes away via text which is a LIE! If you call to check status more than 2x they will then block your number. So pls have a second or third phone available to call them.

Lastly, this agency is contracted by Modivcare to do a needed service for the elderly and handicapped which they fail to represent themselves as caring and professional. I don’t understand why they continue to be in business if they have no heart to do what is right for their clients. If possible stay away. But if you are unable too then make your complaints with Modivcare and your health insurance company. Hopefully someone in management or the director will hear abt the horrible service they provide and make the...
