Nuns were tough. But have fond memories of growing up in good old Brooklyn. Just took a trip around the neighborhood. Love it, but a lot has changed, it looks good. Navy Yard old barracks is now a apartment building. Sacred Heart School is closed and the church and school looks very run-down. Holy Spirit filled community. This was my parents parish growing up. It was called Sacred Heart then. I can’t tell what an amazing impact the priests have had over the neighborhood throughout the decades. Father Murphy was a living saint. Countless lives have been saved. Countless families have been helped. Financially and spiritually. This is definitely one of the Brooklyn diocese gems....
