This is one of my favorite places! It's fun to take walks since the terrain is Hilly but it has trails you can hike or run on. This park has two great playgrounds in different sections one is catered to younger kids while the other has a childrens play area for the younger ones but caters to older kids who prefer to climb higher and includes more challenging play spaces which consists of Gorgeous Bird carvings and a Water Play Area as well. It is also filled with beautiful and Shady trees which provide perfect areas for picnics or relaxation. It has the Prison Ship Martyrs Memorial Monument there that has a great area around it where people practice martial arts and skateboard stunts. If you're a gamer also fun spot for Pokemon Go with scattered poke stops throughout the park. I enjoy this park because it's in the middle of busy downtown Brooklyn but it feels like an escape to Nature even if it's only for a little while to breathe fresh air and unwind. I like it because people of all ages can come here and there's something they'll want to do and also on Saturday Mornings the Farmers Market is just on the side street by Dekalb and S....

There's not much access to restrooms, but there are porta potties available. The only reason I am giving the park a lower rating is because on the way out of the park, down the pathway, I went to run up behind one of the kids in our group, as we were playing and running after one another all day, and an unleashed dog ran up and bit me on the leg. The owner didn't even bother to apologize. Now I'm going through rounds of rabies shots, received a tetnus shot, and I'm on antibiotics just to be on the safe side from my visit to the ER. I have no problem with the fact that dogs are off their leashes, as it is a dog friendly park, but unfortunately, owners, or that owner specifically, just let their dog roam freely anywhere when it had the potential to bite people. I do think the dogs should be leashed where there are walkways and really my biggest concern is, what if it was the kid we were with, was running up behind me and she were the one who was...
