MIG Furniture — Local services in New York

I ordered a nice couch in October from this store and was given an estimated time of 4 months to receive because it was custom made and had to be shipped internationally. I began calling the store in January to get an update as by that point it would’ve been shipped and arriving shortly. The first time I called I heard the representative put the phone down and start speaking to another employee and thought I heard him say that the order had not been placed yet (in Russian). I figured i must have misheard and accepted whatever new timeframe he gave me, which was that I would receive it end of February, or beginning of March.

It was at this point that I began calling every 3-4 weeks for updates, and was always given a new date several weeks past the date given previously. Finally, after almost 7 months I had finally received the couch and decorative pillows. As I was unwrapping the pillows I noticed a production label from the actual manufacturer… with it clearly stating “Date Produced: 10/03/2022”. But that couldnt be right, could it? The representative was adamant that my furniture was built and just had to be shipped since January/February. Then I realized the delivery team left the packaging for the couch itself. So I inspected that. The couch was produced 09/03/2022.

The employees at this store simply forgot to even place my order, but were more than glad to take my deposit and money. Then continued to lie for months about it’s status. Horrible...

I purchased a wall to wall entertainment unit from Modern1Furniture. It arrived intact, but with no assembly instructions whatsoever. I contacted the customer support and was told that the manufacturer doesn’t provide assembly instructions and that the furniture is assembled the same way, any other standard modern1furniture is assembled. The only problem is, that I never before assembled any of their furniture. After continuous requests, I got a single scheme explaining how to use bolts to attach the different sections of the unit to one-another (yeah, that was of great help!!!). A day later, after another request, I got another useless scheme. Realizing that my communication with them was just a waste of time, I decided to go ahead with the assembly without using instructions. I had to figure out on my own where and which fasteners, etc., to use. Needless to say I got some attachments wrong and my unit doesn’t look as nice as the one shown on their web-site. Only after I was done with the assembly, I finally received a PDF file with more detailed instructions - if existing, why didn’t they provide it to me after my first request?!? Very unprofessional. After spending almost $3,000 on a single wall unit, I doubt that I will ever purchase anything else from...

From the very start -- my order of the Italian wall unit and dresser -- to the final delivery stage, both Oleg and Gena were exceptionally professional -- attentive, thoughtful, accommodating, trying to make the whole process easier for me. Oleg offered knowledgeable, detailed suggestions while helping me develop my choice of the exact parts of the wall unit I needed. He was consistently updating me at every step of the deal. He and Gena were also very compassionate in calming down my fear of possible damage or missing parts and reassuring me that everything will arrive in excellent condition.

Fortunately, they were right: my order arrived in a perfectly accurate shape, taking into account that such a huge-sized load crossed the whole country, from coast to coast, since I live as far as Seattle, WA. It was packed up with much care in many layers as one HUGE piece on the palette. When the furniture was finally assembled, it was truly in excellent condition -- just what we wished for.

We definitely recommend MIG Furniture store to anyone intending to buy furniture with a real QUALITY service!
