Located next door to treat and release walk in clinic(there is actually a door connecting the two facilities, in my mind if sometimg were to happen-my dr or any dr is literally a few steps away.) Northway Physical Therapy is a small center with hands on care. I recently started therapy here and I am impressed with the therapy and education I am receiving at Northway. The center recognized I have certain needs due to the nature of my injury/disability. They are kind enough to schedule me at times when I will get the most interaction with my therapist and the least amount of outside stimulation. The recptionist/biller and therapist are smart, dedicated and compassionate-I saw an older patient come in with a billing issue and I liked how it was handled!!! The therapist is very knowledgable in my opinion, I have done PT several times before, usually after each major surgery, but I do believe this is the first time I had such a thorough explanation as to why my body is acting the way it is, and an explanation as to why certain exercises are indeed beneficial. It helps to know why you need the techniques, positions, equipment that I do so I can believe in my therapy and continue the right practices at home. I am working with Maria(don't everyone call at once and book her up now, she was mine first.) Maria is amazing, I find her easy to work with. She is a good blend of serious professional and someone who tries to make therapy fun. Like most physical therapy, you will get out of it whatever you are willing to put into it; however Maria really goes the extra mile to get you better. Northway has been opened for approximately one year, so all the equipment is practically brand new, that or they clean it exceptionally well. There are some things people may have issue with, such as the size. This is a very small center, a storefront physical therapy site-this is attractive to me becasue I have been to large PT centers where the therapists are literally running from patient to patient and barely have a moment to correct you when you are not doing the exercises properly or to your benefit(they have to hide to fill in their paperwork-you know what I mean if you have ever gone to chop-shop, warehouse, tightly packed meat market therapy center) I really wanted a more intimate experience-Alright, I'll say it, I deserved better therapy then I have received in the past. There is also a small reception area at Northway that I can use while waiting for access a ride to pick me up with a view of the street. There is one private bathroom in the facility and it is kept very clean. The facility is well ventilated and never smells stale or musty. The music in the center is according to patients choice, They also adjust the volume of the music per request. Water is made available if needed. Hot and cold compresses are offered before or after therapy and NEVER with an "I'm busy attitude." The towels and compresses are exceptionally clean. I don't use electronic stimulation, but they do offer it, as well as manual manipulation as needed. I like the feel and practices at Northway. I have had to cancel appointments-hopefully not abusively!!! However, and Unfortunately, I have made same day cancellations due to not feeling well, they have not penalized me or made me feel like a "bad patient" for doing so. They do not have a handicapp access door, but don't allow that to discourage you. The receptionist keeps an Eagle Eye on that front door and leaps out of her seat when she sees me approaching the door, I use a walker right now and heavy doors are difficult for me to open. Every time I have arrived for therapy she has been at that door to open it for me-she's so attentive and so polite. I'm really happy at Northway, I also feel very hopeful that my therapist and I have created a reasonable plan to get me walking and without an additive device. It will take time. The Northway staff has already let me know they will work with my insurance company(the very annoying GHI) to get them to extend me...

Read moreI have been a physical therapy patient of Dr. Hussein Ahmad for 25 years; and see him as needed based on the conditions of my body. In this sense he is a healer and knows the approaches to use to alleviate the discomfort I feel on certain occasions. I trust him and always feel comfortable in his office since the staff are efficient, kind, and knowledgeable about issues to do with health insurance; as well as the exercises and machines we use to support the therapy offered by Dr. Hussein. Therefore, the staff and comfort of the office enhances the experience of physical therapy. I highly recommend Dr. Hussein to anyone, who is seeking physical therapy for issues or conditions that affect their movement and well-being over time.
