Oriental Taichi Spa — Local services in New York

I googled this place and saw it had excellent reviews, which is what caught my interest. The hours listed on Google is 10am to 2am 7 days a week, I called at 7:30pm on a Saturday 6/28/25 to verify their hours and was told over the phone that tonight they were open 24 hours. I scheduled an appointment for 9pm for a one hour full body work and when I arrived the only girl I saw there told me they closed at 9pm and could only provide a half hour massage. I accepted and was surprised when she said I had to pay upfront plus the tip. I’ve been going to massage places my whole life and had never once been told to pay upfront plus the tip, I’m a generous tipper and complied. I have the habit of always checking the time right before they come in to start and it was 9:10pm. After only 15 minutes the girl said she was done with the 30 minute massage, it was only 9:25pm and I told her she started at 9:10pm and I still had 15 more minutes, she seemed surprised that I had taken notice and finished the other 15 minutes. It appears she had a very long day, was tired and just wanted to go home. Apparently I probably came at the wrong time but I certainly won’t ever be returning to this...

I’ve been coming to your massage parlor for over two years almost every 4-6 weeks, and have always appreciated the excellent service from Lily — she’s truly an incredible masseuse. I recently purchased my second 10-massage package (at $40 per massage) and always tip generously, typically between $15 and $20 per session.

However, during my most recent visit, another staff member (possibly a friend of the owner or another worker?) stayed in the room the entire time and made very uncomfortable comments — including saying that my tip was way too low and that I should be tipping $30–$40 (100% tip???). This was very inappropriate and made me feel disrespected and angry during what should be a peaceful and relaxing experience. I still left LILY a $20 tip despite the situation.

I’m reaching out because I value the relationship I’ve built here and would like to continue coming, but I also need to feel comfortable and respected when I visit. I hope this can be addressed so it doesn’t...

I have been a customer at Oriental Taichi Spa Massage now for over a year. I usually go 1-2 times per month and I am very happy that I have found a nice place. My top ten reasons that I am loyal:

1. Lily and Jenny are talented massage therapists. They give a strong massage but don't hurt you.

2. I text my appointment request and receive text confirmation which makes scheduling easy.

3. The establishment is clean and the rooms are a good size.

4. The bathroom is clean.

5. There is plenty of street parking.

6. The price is reasonable. I buy the 10 visit package which reduces the price a bit more too.

7. Lily is friendly and always makes you feel welcome. She cares about her business and her customers.

8. They play nice relaxing music so it feels peaceful.

9. It is not on a busy street so there isn't a lot of street noise or drop-in customers disturbing your massage.
