Update from my previous review left:
Following my initial review, I was contacted by Kristin, the owner, the week of Thanksgiving. Instead of addressing my concerns with an apology or genuine accountability, the conversation felt more like coaching on how I should have handled the situation rather than how the business could improve. The call ended with her asking me to delete my review. I expressed that I would think about it, as I was uncomfortable with how the conversation made me feel—lacking empathy and acknowledgment of my experience. I had already scheduled a follow-up appointment for this past Sunday. However, when I called to reschedule due to traveling from NJ, I discovered my appointment had been canceled—not by me, but by Kristin. She later called and stated that she assumed, since I hadn’t deleted my review, I no longer wanted to be a client. This assumption was never discussed or agreed upon. I clarified that my issue was never with the laser services themselves but with how the front desk staff handled the situation initially. In her response, Kristin mentioned that I was offered another technician and declined. However, she neglected to mention the reason I declined: I was previously burned by another technician I wasn’t accustomed to, which is why I specifically stick with the provider who knows my skin and how to treat it safely. This important detail was omitted, making her response feel misleading rather than transparent. Additionally, I want to clarify that I had no issue waiting during my initial appointment since I was late. I fully understood the inconvenience I caused and had every intention of waiting patiently. The issue was never about impatience or being rude, but rather that the front desk staff did not know how to properly manage the situation or communicate expectations clearly. I remained calm and respectful throughout the entire experience, despite how it has been portrayed. I explained that if the business preferred complaints to be addressed differently, that policy should be clearly posted in the space, as visibly as they promote their Google reviews. I’m disappointed that instead of making space for constructive feedback, the focus seemed to be on controlling the narrative of their online presence. As a Black-owned business, I expected a higher standard of professionalism, accountability, and respect, especially given how crucial it is to break the negative stereotypes around customer service in our community. Unfortunately, this situation only perpetuated those harmful patterns, with poor conflict resolution and an unwillingness to accept feedback gracefully. I’m a “girls’ girl” and believe situations like this can be easily resolved with a sincere apology, which I never received from the front desk associate or Kristin during her call. Had there been accountability and understanding during that first conversation, I would have willingly removed my review, as requested. However, this experience has shown me that the reviews presented are more curated than authentic, which is deeply concerning. I will no longer be supporting or referring this business, as I believe my hard-earned money deserves to be spent where customers are treated with genuine care...
Read moreNormally have a great experience here. I finally have a tech that takes her time and is great (5 stars for Tene) but today was particularly ANNOYING as I called 30min before to say I would be late for my 2:15 appt front desk associated asked me if wanted to go with a did tech I said no considering my previous experience when I used someone other then Tene (an opportunity for her to tell me I would have to wait until maybe 2 appts but nope ) I came in at 2:45 and the person before me technically was still in the room with the tech. So technically we are all behind & late ? No. Well they had me wait after two more people to be seen when essentially we all were late and I should have been seen after the young lady whose time was already dipping into my appointment time. I always get full face and chest which takes some time and no way I would have been done by 2:45 for my 2:15 appointment. I had to speak the desk girl otherwise she hadn’t said a word to me the whole time. I asked her would I be after the 3pm girl and she looked at her computer and said yes, which wasn’t true another girl came in and went after her and the front desk associate didn’t even mention anything until I got up and said something (wasn’t I suppose to be next? Just to call Tene to say because I was late I would have to wait) all fine but could have been clearly communicated again the front desk girl said nothing to me until I asked if I would be next. She was speaking to a departing guess when I arrived so I used the second kiosk to check in, didn’t acknowledge me after or offer me a drink which is normally the experience here. I sat and waited as another young lady came in and just like me she used the kiosk to check in because the front desk girl was with a client and after she acknowledged her and offered her a drink etc. why hadn’t I gotten the same treatment? Smh overall i recommend the facility and the services especially with Tene but todays customer service was not it and I travel from NJ to come here. The front desk girl here today made this appointment the worst from her lack of customer service and clear communication.
I find it rather interesting that after I made this review I finally did speak to one of the owners who wasn’t very pleasant. I had only wished that I had received an apology over the phone as I am receiving one from your review response, it would have been appreciated and I would have granted your request to delete my review. Rather interesting my next appointment was canceled randomly? I only found this out when I called to reschedule due to the weather and me traveling from NJ. Again I never disparaged your quality of laser service, yet your service recovery or lack there of from the front desk associate is what...
Read moreOnce you go laser, you don't go back!
I had my first laser experience with PeachFuzz back in October 2020 and I haven't looked back ever since. I started out following them on social media and was impressed. I made the jump when they started promoting their Baecation package which includes underarm, extended bikini and lower leg.
I've been to their beautiful brownstone studio where they started out and the current one they worked out now is even more gorgeous. I love how they feature black artists, particularly the paintings of Reyna Noriega (whom I love and also own). The atmosphere they provide is very spa like. The staff is very professional and welcoming. I usually get offered something to drink. Seamless check-in virtually, payment and booking future appointments. Keisha, one of their founders and a fellow Nurse Practitioner is usually my go to person. She, is very relatable and exudes confidence in her craft.
Now for the sessions. With the laser I was the most sensitive in my bikini area and belly followed by my armpits. The pain felt like tiny rubber bands being snapped against my skin. It's funny with my legs I don't feel anything at all, meanwhile I am squirming other places. The sessions are very quick, about 15-20mns and you are on your way. I usually premeditate with some motrin beforehand.
The results are immediate and amazing! My skin stayed smooth and when the skin eventually grows back its very fine. I no longer get folliculitis in my armpits which tended to happen from shaving. Best of all, the hyperpigmenation areas in my bikini zone have also improved, dare I say pretty much gone. I feel more confident now in a bikini.
In addition to laser, I love how this company has also built a community over the years. I have been invited to many customer appreciation events, vacation retreats, and notably the fabulous party for the launch of their skincare line.
Overall, one of the best beauty and self care decisions...
