Saghar Karim, MD — Local services in New York

I started seeing Dr Karim just a few months ago. She seemed great at first, she's very likeable. However, about three weeks ago I went in with severe back pain. She sent me for X-rays. Till this day, I am waiting for those results from her. After getting no info from her, and her not returning my calls, turns out I had scoliosis, stenosis, degenerative disc disease and 5 bulging discs in my spine. I found this out on my own from the radiology center. So I went ahead and had an endocrinology appointment that she referred me to. The next day I found out I have osteoporosis. I called her and still did not receive a call back. Then I went to see a spine specialist on my own and they sent me for an MRI. I have a broken back!!!! Called her again to have her call me back... heard nothing. Now I'm having back surgery in three weeks. This time I called her office with my insurance representative on the phone. She was asked to call me again. One hour later I received a phone call from her office and they said she "would call me back today" . I'm still waiting for that phone call. I plan on contacting the head of her hospital, the State board of medicine, the AMA, healhgrades, zoc doc reviews you name it. She should not be licensed! Next day, I called. She had some np call me back. She won't even call me. This is complete malpractice. I may not be using her, but I'm turning her in and telling my story...

Dr. Shagar Kaim is one of the most caring, thorough doctors I have ever seen. She took the time to examine me. She asked me detailed questions about my physical concerns and listened to my personal issues as well. She helped with advice and guidelines on how to handle them. She also referred me to do several tests that were very critical to my health. Later, when I got the results, I visited her again, she went through the results and explained to me how important it is to seek treatment right away. Because of Dr. Shagar Kim, I am now getting help in taking care of some critical health issues that if it was not for Dr. Shagar Karim throughout the examination I would not know that I have them.
