I paid $125 for a Deeper Healing massage. It was very intentional with telling them that I did not want a Thai massage and that I had a sensitive lower back. Before going in for the service, I reiterated this and I was very clear that I did not want any kind of Thai massage or bodyweight massage.
Immediately this person's entire body weight was on me . I began to feel pain and alerted this person, but eventually had to stop the massage because the pain was too great. I ended up leaving 10 minutes in. I have had many deep tissue massages in my life, and I have never experienced this kind of pain. An hour or later, and I can't even move my shoulder.
In addition to this, About two minutes into my massage I hear the door open and somebody walked into the room while I was on the table, which was very unnerving and made me feel very unsafe. I was laying there mostly Naked, already not being heard about the type of massage I want only to realize that somebody entered the room and I couldn't see who it was. I do not recommend this establishment.
UPDATE: Siya was very responsive to my concerns and very open to finding a solution. They refunded my money and offered a complimentary service. I appreciate their understanding of the necessity of consent and privacy when undergoing treatment. standing of the necessity of consent and privacy when undergoing treatment. I was very specific in asking for a yoga Thai massage. I was very specific about the areas I wanted worked on. I told the person I booked with what I wanted. I told the person doing the massage what I wanted. I was direct in letting them know that I was not interested in doing the non-traditional combo massage/stretch as described on the phone. I was only interested in the traditional thai massage. They said ok on the phone and my masseuse said ok, and then ignored me and what I expressly said I wanted and didn't want
When you are undressed and physically venerable, your masseuse should listen and respond to your request. I was totally ignored. When I firmly brought up the issue she said...
Read moreWow!!! Thank you Ming! Just got the deep tissue Thai massage last night. I think it was a combination of Thai / Shiatsu, with oil. Absolutely amazing. Definitely the most intense massage I’ve ever had. I don’t want to over-hype it, but, honestly: a persistent lower back pain has mostly dissipated. Knee and hip pains greatly lessened. (At the end of massage, Ming said something like: “Now, I will re-balance you.” And he really did! Look, I’m pretty sure these pains will come back, but with the pain drastically reduced now, I can do my own stretches / yoga better, which will definitely help. A lot. Your results may differ, but that’s my next-day report. Once again: Thank You Ming! You are a true Artist. (Also, it was nice to meet you, Siya!) Until...
