Okay so I will periodically flag a place to try in my childhood neighborhood since there has been a little gentrification. And I must say there gave been great finds which has been refreshing to your standard Mickey D's to local Chinese restaurant fare.
So this establishment was next in life to embrace and what a great 1st impression. According to my mom they keep a steady flow of folks especially in the summer.
We did takeout and while waited (which was a little bit), we noticed several things. There is great turnover whether dining in, for takeout or online/call-in orders. Also we found there were two private hibachi rooms in back.
So needless to say the next trip will be to sit in 1st and foremost and to try the hibachi. We ordered......okay I ordered quite a bit (result of running in "E" from just a morning cup of tea).
Either all ordered well at least what was immediately eaten was amazing and super fresh. So I anticipate that when I go back for the leftovers they'll be equally amazing.
Order: fried oysters (good), coconut shrimp (😋😜🤗 #Delish and Oh My Word the sauce), Rainbow roll (standard supa fresh), Caribbean roll (delish), Angry Birds roll (#Yum), Alaskan Roll (Mom liked), Nabe Yaki Udon Noodle Soup Noodle (TO BE EATEN), and Thai ice tea (okay)
So can you tell......one I was super hungry.......two we enjoyed the takeout. So suffice it to say this will be the spot outside of our obsession with Fumo. Pricey but worth it, fresh and great portions.
Side note little pet peeve one of the sushi chefs didn't change gloves while making orders and touching the garage can to toss out debris and didn't rinse out the counter rag often enough between counter wipes.
With that said the food...
Read moreI placed an order to pick up an hour ago. But when I arrived and paid (included a tip), I decided to stay to eat outside because it was 3 PM and announcement of a happy hour. while eating my lunch no waiter showed up for me even though I was trying to attract someone’s attention from inside. I was with the dog so I couldn’t go inside to announce my presence but they definitely saw me. Then finally someone came out, I explained that I’d like to order a drink (after 30 minutes of waiting) and he called a waitress. She came out and told me that she saw me but didn’t want to disturb me. How’s that? I was so shocked. Your client is eating outside your food and you don’t come over to ask if she needs anything else! Now it’s getting even better…I finished my lunch by then so I refused to order a drink. She left. While I was leaving she returned quickly this time and yelled at me that if I order pick up I have to take my trash with me. Wow… I come to Geisha since I started living in Harlem -7years. And never saw such rude and underqualified people here. These new people including the waitress have no proper training and taking down a reputation of this restaurant. Very disappointing experience after all years of being...
Read moreThis place just reopened. The sesame chicken was horrible. The chicken was was fatty and gelatinous. The brown sauce was too dark and super thick. It tasted horrible and was horribly overpriced.
Here's the greater issue: BEWARE. I ordered my food for takeout. I woke up the next morning to realize I'd left my debit card at this shady so-called restaurant. I called at 10:00-ish and there was no answer. I was at my bank when they opened at 10:00 on a Saturday morning. I cancelled my card because I did not want to wait for the Geisha to open. I also found out that there were three purchases on my card after I'd used it for the last time buying the nasty sesame chicken. It was used at McDonald's once and twice at a Starbucks.
That same Saturday afternoon I decided to stop in to inquire whether my card was there and sure enough it was. A young woman says, oh, yes. "Can I see your ID tomato make sure it's you?" I said to her, absolutely not, let me see the card to see if it's mine. She pulled it out of the cash drawer and it was mine. I said, I've cancelled it, you can throw it away, and whoever used it last night after I used it here, should be ashamed. I'll never go there...
