WOW …. Just WOW. My excitement to see a candy store in Staten island mall was absolutely unfathomable to the layman sugar junkie. From the shady streets of port Richmond I was not afforded the luxury of sweeties. But as a grown adult I like to partake in a ponpon from time to time. On my daily stroll in Staten Island mall my eyes glaze upon a colorful site. Sugar Bear Candy Store. As I enter the store a young man greeted me. I walked up to him jaw open asking “how long has this been here?” When the words couple months I was befuddled of how I could’ve missed it this whole time. I inquire about what I should purchase and Sal takes me on a rollercoaster of optioned my favorite was the frozen candies and the gummy worms. My stomach can eat as many gummy worms as there are real worms in this world. After purchasing a considerable amount of candy I check out with the wonderful candy connoisseur Salvatore ( it rhymes). And as I left I feel a great sense of relief lifting from my shoulders. Finally a place where I could be me. Where I could feel free. Laying in bed at 12 am I can’t shake the feeling. My day was made. If you are EVER in Staten Island mall come here now. And by now I mean leave your house and come get some savory sweets. Your taste buds and stomach will thank...
