Sunrise Medical Laboratories — Local services in New York

I was a little skeptical of coming to this location after reading reviews from the past. But since my doctor prefers me to have my laboratory in Sunrise Medical Laboratory (particularly the Valley Stream Location- Merrick and after I got answered rudely on the phone when I was just asking politely for the office hours and if I needed an appt), I decided to go to this location instead as it was closer to my other doctor inspite of the bad reviews. I was greeted with a pleasant smile by the receptionist and she was helpful in explaining me how soon I will be able to get the result. The phlebotomist was awesome. I am a Registered Nurse and well experienced in drawing blood, I could tell if someone knows what they are doing. They did not even know that I am a nurse and yet, everything were done aseptically. The place was clean and I was done in 10 mins...in and out, just like that. No lines, no waits. But then again, that was done in the morning, on a weekday. Overall experienced was pleasant. No complaints. Glad I came to this location instead of Valley Stream Location on Merrick with a rude staff (who answered me on the phone...I could imagine how she will treat...

This lab is supposed to open at 7:30 am. I went there twice and stood outside until 8:30 am, the first time and no one showed up to open the place. This morning I was there at 7:30 am , and although there was a technician inside she refused to let us in citing security reasons. She claimed she was waiting on her coworker. At around 8:30 she stated that they were sending someone from another location and she didn’t know what time they would get there. At this time 4 people were waiting outside some of us fasting, some doing the test before going to work. I find this situation to be deplorable and I’m hoping that Sunrise will correct this situation. We do not deserve to be treated like this in our community. This is the lab at 3210...

dirty, depressing and oppressive. What’s worse is the extremely rude and unprofessional front desk broad who did a very loud heavy sigh when I entered the office because it was 4:08 and they close 4:30 when I asked to sign in to draw blood. She then slammed paper and caught some sort of attitude because I wasn’t answering her very vague question about my kids pediatrician. Listen Patrine or whatever tf your name is, if you don’t want to work the days after the holidays hun don’t take it out on the patients. I left, no sense in wasting time and having that negativity around me or my kids. I would have caught a case if I had stayed an extra minute second hour. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother...
