Balmir Dance Studio — Attraction in New York

Very shady company. As a former customer I am disgusted and appalled, and others should know my terrible experience and take it into consideration before patronizing this company.

This company posted a "contest" on their social media page with the terms of entry simply being to repost a flyer on our Instagram pages and stories and claimed two winners would be chosen a few days apart.

I entered the contest and followed up after the first date they claimed they were announcing a winner had passed without any word. Someone else was named winner - ok. But when I checked the winners profile there was no post on their page.

So I waited for the next date the winner would be announced (July 5th) and checked in on the 9th when again no winner was announced. Imagine my surprise when I was told there was no second winner. Huh?

When I called them out on their false advertising they switched gears and claimed a lot of people had entered (so a bunch of us got shafted) but all of a sudden they were determining the winner based on multiple reposts to our pages and stories and that we could delete and repost many times with them keeping track. Beside being super unorthodox, reposting multiple times was never mentioned in the contest rules and then they tried to blame me for not asking them about their odd rules.

Look if you don't want to do a real giveaway pay for promotion and don't try to switch the goal posts and rules when you are called out on it. And don't give legal threats because I let others know the real deal. It's not slander to tell the truth about what I believe is false advertising.

Interestingly enough they deleted the contest from their page when I told them I'd be sharing my experience. Nothing says "not guilty" like getting rid of the evidence, right? It's all good though because I have all the screenshots. So if you are thinking of doing business with this company learn from my experience. I know I won't ever...

I have never danced before in my life. I suddenly started with Balmir in April and cannot stop! I highly recommend this dancing school, because they have very talented, patient, friendly, RESPONSIBLE instructors who know their job and work with us very personally. I want to say big fat thank you to Marlene and Joel: thank you for your incredible job! I could not imagine that I will dance latin dances and not bad! Honestly! I improve my dancing skills with them every week! And also I like atmosphere in this school: during class time we have a lot of fun. Also I like payment system it is very affordable and flexible (Jessica, thank you for that). And also schedule: it is pretty good for working people: they have evening classes during work week and Saturday classes. There are different levels from beginners to advanced, so you can create your own schedule. So,...

I was a little reluctant to take salsa lessons due to my inexperience, non-rhythmic dancing and body moves, a friend recommended I try Balmir Latin Dance Studio because the instructors there he said had patience with beginners, they all had a passion for dancing and the comradery of the studio made you want to learn. So I signed up and took a shot at taking lessons. BOY, my friend was 180% correct about this place, studio is clean and friendly and the instructors are absolutely fantastic. Even the owner (Mr. Balmir) was hands on with some of the classes and gave me key moves/shines/basic steps that I use at socials all over the city. I would like to thank the instructors and Mr Balmir for helping me become a better dancer and building my confidence to dance at socials.
