Update: Two years later 3/6/2022 WARNING: CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE!!!!!! They are still over charging for items marked at a lower prices. They are also charging you for things that you didn't want that should have been voided and removed from your receipt. Also, they do not honor some of the items that are WIC eligible. They tell you it's not eligible but you show them the items on the WIC site and they don't resolve the issues, make changes or adjustments, they just say no. Here are some examples of what my family and I have experienced. Sent my son for 2 loaves of bread and the bright orange sticker they placed on the bread says $2.79 but they rang up at $3.99. Then my grandson's mother tried to get bread that is listed on the WIC website, they had a bright orange WIC sticker on it but they won't allow her to get it because in their system it is not WIC eligible. Go figure! They some how charged me the $3.99 for the bread which should have been voided. I told her I didn't want it. She showed me on the screen that she voided the bread but I checked my receipt days later to find the bread charge was never removed from thr transaction. Another issue I had was I bought two different brands of Malta. One brand one $6.99 and the other was $5.99. I was charged the higher price for both. It's a shame but these local stores are cheating you out of the little bit of coins you have.
Update/FYI: The Deli guy with the braids is very kind and polite, so are the older guys who pack your groceries in the bags at the register. The man at the entrance with the glasses, that checks your cart and bags is nice also.
The prices on items in the sales paper (circulars) or on the in-store tags are often, not reflected at the register. I have been overcharged for items on to many occasions. I now have to check my receipt before I leave the store. I would rather go across the GWB to shop in New Jersey at the BJ's and Walmart in North Bergen and in the Shoprite in Palisades Park. It is where I shopped when I resided in Ridgefield, NJ. The selection is so much better and so are the prices. I don't understand why grocery prices are so much higher in the Bronx, where there are many low income people, people on public assistance, or receiving...
Read more**I've been getting a dominican breakfast from this place for the past week, they've always charged me 7 dollars. I go in today get the same thing and the cashier rung it up for 9 dollars. I asked was there a price change overnight cause that's not what I have been paying this past week. She told me it's because I have a salami and a sausage and eggs and cheese, I was extremely confused. I said that doesn't make any sense, she then said it's another girl who charged you wrong. She proceeded to insult me in Spanish, I am not a perfect Spanish speaker but I understand very well. To not make a scene I told I no longer wanted the food, that's when she changed the price to 7. At that point I was annoyed, I'm just not gonna purchase food from there anymore. I think it would best moving forward to have the prices listed where both staff and customers can see clear, that way there is no room for a misunderstanding from either parties. Since I have been living here for 3 years now I've have friendly and welcoming experiences at this place but its slowly becoming one of the places I will avoid, or just look for my favorite cashiers at checkout. Update: renovations looks really good. I wish they would pay closer attention and give extra care to their produce section. Rotten produce should not...
Read moreI took this image today. Please check the temperature of your vegetables daily, and adjust it accordingly. This is a clear contamination and people will get sick, if they haven't already. There is no reason why multiple fruits have clear mold on them. You have several workers stocking merchandise through out the store, but none of them noticed that the fruits are rotten and riddled with mold. I've never seen so much mold, espically on a coconut, I've actually never seen a moldy coconut until this day.. There's no excuse for this, do better Superfresh.
Besides the bad fruit and contamination. The store isn't bad, it's not the best, but their customer service is great in my opinion. The prices are pretty high for some things, but there's a bunch of decent deals as...
