Probably the best place in Central Park to see the fall colors as they reflect over the water. This is a very scenic and yet secluded spot, as it's not that visible from the central park loop or even the 102nd transverse (though one may have a better chance of discovering this area if coming from here) If one is taking the loop, the area is on your right just as you are at the last part of the downhill section after the long and arduous west drive hill climb from Central Park north. It is indeed a fascinating area and the ducks seems to like it as well as they congregate in many numbers, enjoying the pool. There are also mini waterfalls. The fall scenery, with the combination of red, yellow and almost gold leaves on the trees as they reflect off the pond on a sunny day doesn't last long though. maybe at most a week when the temperature goes below 50f.
