I was disappointed with the food when we ate here on a Saturday evening. We had 2 vegan burgers, 1 regular shake, 1 vegan shake and Scott’s waffles to share. I did ask for everything to arrive at once, so the Scott’s waffles being kinda cold is to blame on myself I guess? The waffle fries just weren’t that good. No flavor, no real crunch, just super bland. The vegan burgers were alright. I feel like the vegan burgers I had from the Bareburger Court St Brooklyn location tasted juicier and weren’t “just slapped together”. The milkshakes were the best part of our dinner here. Especially my husband’s vegan mint chocolate cookies & cream shake was really delicious! Our waitress Hannah W was kind and helpful. However, I’m sad to say that my expectations for our UWS Bareburger dinner weren’t met. I left with a full, but unsatisfied disappointed stomach. Maybe the time of our visit 5:00pm on a Saturday had something to do with it, because it was pretty packed when we arrived. I don’t like writing this kinda sad review, but I have to keep it real.

My third time eating at bareburger. I've had the Farmstead (V, GF). It was delicious. The food is good..it's organic and locally sourced according to their website which I suppose accounts for the expensive bill at the end of your meal....I just can't seem to get over the price of a burger starting at $9.90 average? that doesnt include fries. And an order of fries $5.25 comes close to the price (maybe $4 less) of a basic no frills burger..and the portion size..:p don't get me started.(although I've been told I eat with my eyes and I have to admit the sweet potatoes are yummy) lol .so I'm half and half on how much I like bareburger. (Still need to get to know it I suppose) I hardly eat out so knowing the money I could save on making it at home is a pet peeve of mine... but so far every thing I've tried... I like.. and the Macho Fries are a favorite...& I wish they would bring back lamb burgers

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! The good: high-quality, made to order burgers where you can build your own burger choosing from several meat options - my fav is Bison! - buns or greens, toppings. Organic, grass-fed meat definitely worth the extra buck or two. The bad: service is at best confused. Waitstaff seems positive but a bit clueless. They are not so familiar with the menu, they never heard of bringing the salads, apps before the main course, and I have had them come back to check on what was ordered multiple times. Since the staff seems eager and positive, I suspect poor management is the issue. The layout of the restaurant is longer and narrow resulting in a noisy experience with the music a bit too loud. Also, my clothes smell like the burger joint afterwards - they need better venting.

Okay, so we walked from 81st all the way up thinking we would grab groceries for dinner and ended up stepping in here for a bite and it was SO worth it. In fact I would easily walk 20 blocks for this burger. I almost forgot to take a picture of my burger before I scarfed it all down! The Mexican chocolate shake was incredible, I don't know why more places don't serve Mexican chocolate things. The spicy & chocolately flavors pair so well. But, two changes I would've made, 1) don't put chocolate chunks in your shake. No one wants a pile of chocolate in the bottom. Melt and mix or leave it out. 2) I love marshmallow, but this was an iceberg of marshmallow. A bit too much. My husband LOVED the onion rings, I didn't think they were crunchy enough, but they had a great flavor.

I had the chicken bites with maple syrup and honey. Pretty good actually! The coke had a different taste to it but it wasn’t horrible. The coffee cup was huge which was nice considering my friend and I sat for a bit and chatted. She got a burger which she also enjoyed. The pricing is a bit up there but I guess it’s the price for decently made food. As for the environment itself. The music wasn’t loud. There was a funky smell in the air and I can’t tell you what it was exactly. The one thing that did annoy me was that we asked for a booth seat and we were told no Incase larger groups came in. Literally 2 mins later the hostess sat a couple in the booth we requested. I noticed another booth opened so I asked our waitress instead and she was fine with it.

When they bring you water, look at the cap and see the mold growing on the underside of the cap. We ordered a burger, a salad, a hibiscus tea, and a negroni. The food tasted good. The tea was more ice than hibiscus, and the negroni was atrocious. Look at the light orange color of the photo and you'll see they did not use enough Campari. It's a drink that is a 1:1:1 ratio, so I'm not sure how they messed it up, and it took 20 minutes to make. The drink represented an indication for the poor service. During our time, the restaurant had a baseball game on the television, played one Madonna song, one electronic dance number, and then hard rock song. It has no idea what it wants to be when it grows up.
