Walgreens — Local services in New York

Extremely rude, disrespectful, unfriendly and unprofessional pharmacist/pharm tech. I would never come here if I didn’t have to. I hate this place after just one single visit which was my first visit.

Today’s second visit (8/31/2024) was moderately ok but the last time I visited (8/10/2024), I had an extremely unpleasant encounter with a young Middle Eastern looking lady wearing glasses. She asked me what medicine I was picking up and tried to make me say the name of the medicine. What ordinary person remember the complex name of a prescription medicine? Even if I did remember the name I would’ve preferred to keep it disclosed. Furthermore, I believe it was totally unnecessary for me to confirm the name to receive the medicine. When I couldn’t say it she looked at the record (or she already knew the name of the medicine since she had my record open on the computer and tried to make me say it on purpose) and said out loud the name of prescription in front of all other customers, disclosed details that should be regarded private in front of others with no consideration whatsoever, and treated me in an almost humiliating way.

Even after I went through all that trouble with her she did prevent me from picking up the medicine, made me leave empty-handed and feeling miserable. I had to come back again today (8/31/2024) after weeks to finally pick up the medicine and start taking it. This was a medicine that I was supposed to have started taking much earlier - She is unprofessional and rude to the extent that she has absolutely no regard for patient’s health.

She had no respect and consideration for a patient’s privacy whatsoever, which is an essential and basic ethics for a medical personnel. I’d never want to even have to run into her ever again. She should not be in the position to face any patient with that attitude - She should not even be in the field of medicine at all with the absence of the most basic and essential ethics. Unfortunately I didn’t take a note of her name.

After that incident with the young lady, I’m determined to make a voice recording when I have to visit this pharmacy, just in case I have to go through a similar encounter.

I called the corporate customer service to report the incident. Will see what happens.

The customer service from the staff is terrible. Waited on line by the photos (the booth was empty) and one of the female staff looked at me and walked right passed me without saying anything. I waited another 5 mins before someone else came to help. I was then told they need someone else to come to the photo stand which that I can understand but what I couldn’t understand is why the other staff couldn’t tell me that when she saw me and walked passed me she just ignored me completely for 5 mins. The manager is even worse (same day but later in the night) right before it closed, the doors were still open and not locked it wasn’t even midnight yet. They deliberately closed the cashier box upon seeing me enter in order for me to not checkout and instead yelled through the speaker after I entered “lock the doors”. After I got my item to check out (only took me 1 min) that’s when they told me the register is now closed. I told them the door was still open when I entered and it wasn’t midnight/closing time one of the male workers said “manager can close the register whenever he wants even if it’s not midnight” I then went up to the manager and told him that is not right especially when he saw me come in and did not say anything to me that they’re closing the register before I got my item (still before closing time during this encounter) manager said “So that’s still not my problem. I can close out any time I want.” TERRIBLE customer service from various employees and abuse of power from the manager. I wish I knew names so I can properly report but I will file a complaint to corporate. I apologize for the long message I had to vent this out. If I need something I’ll come here only for EMERGENCIES since it’s the closest to my house but I’d recommend going anywhere else but here i guarantee you that they’ll be way more...

I just came out from taking passport photos. The new manager Dereck is so mean he clearly is not properly ready to be taking care of a store where there is regular customers i’m definitely not against anyone in this world but I have a 6 month cookapoo mini size and I just came inside for photos in this occasion. The Manager Dereck told me im not allowed to bring my dog in the store. Ha! My dog is a puppy that being coming into the store to be spoiled for toys and snacks from this store all the time since he was 2 month old. Definitely I had him in his leash and I didn't walk around the store only stand in the photo area also he is properly trained for potty. I live 2 blocks away since 2020. Also this location is my pharmacy for prescription and where I buy my dishwasher machine soap, tide, bounty’s, paper toilet and more regularly. He claimed is the state law but honestly I’ve searched the law and it talks about big dogs and unleashed. I’m sorry Walgreens from kissena Dereck the Asian manager made me feel not welcome to this place ever again. If you are so attached to your dogs like me this store is not recommended. I’m a business owner myself and I think there should be a little bit of tact to treat customers he should at list ask questions not only kicking out my puppy out. Not to mention that he didn’t even wanted to take care of us and was all the time talking on the phone laughing and making jokes who knows with who. I will change my pharmacy to the nearest one. 👍 Good JOB...
