New York Pho House at 70-57 Parsons Blvd š”
The food was good when we sat in and dined on April 16. Thought I had made friends at the new neighborhood restaurant. Spreaded the word that the food was delicious was treated great by the two gentlemen that were there. I was so impressed.
Noticed they had more staff Which they barely spoke English and seemed inexperienced. Decided I'd try them for takeout on a cold wet dreary day May 14, I thought I could trust them for takeout I was so wrong Smdh I was so sickened and disappointed š May 14 was a miserable rainy day Didn't feel like cooking so I called New York Pho House and ordered takeout The girl over the phone told me my order number was # 31. I spent $52. On vegetarian Pho , 2 orders of chicken wings , fried rice , vegetable spring rolls. I came in about 10 minutes noticed my order was ready and packed super quick that was questionable 𤨠So I see the guy I know from day 1 from there I say "Hello". Very nice guy We chat a bit he asks about my son and grandson . I thank them and leave I can't wait to eat cause the food was so good before when we sat in. Got home and unveiled the food to my surprise It was disgusting food the rice looked gross dried out with burnt bits nothing like the rice we had dining in. Looked like they took it from the garbage. They chicken was nothing like the crispy marinated seasoned chicken wings we had day 1. They chicken wings slathered with sweet stuff and soggy and bloody raw in the middle. The Pho had no flavor it was overwhelming of lemongrass basil I think. The vegetable spring rolls were the only thing I found edible. The food looked like they took it out of the trash. Disappointed ā¹ļø Too tired cold and wet from earlier to walk back to complain. These things were no mistake. Just because a customer isn't present in your face you decide pull a fast one over on them?? What you do when people are not looking says a lot about character and integrity.
I hope it was worth it because I will never ever spend money in that place ever again. People want restaurants in their community that they can trust . These people can't be trusted. I'd fire the kitchen staff from May 14 if I were the owner /manager.
The first 6 photos are from the dine in visit The last 5 were from the $52 takeout order. I apologized to my son for this dinner disaster I will never eat food from anyone's restaurant I vow this, I swear this . Never again smh I've always been fearful and squeamish about eating food from other people. New York Pho House has validated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to Pho House over 6ā7 times with my family, and we usually enjoy their classic pho itās typically rich and flavorful. However, on this visit, the broth lacked depth and tasted watered down. In the past, the pho included black pepper and other spices that settled at the bottom of the bowl, but this time it was noticeably bare. It even looked different more clear and thin, rather than the rich brown color it normally has.
We were also excited to try the halal banh mi again, especially after previously suggesting that adding chicken could draw more customers. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. At the Manhattan location, we received generous portions of meat, but at the Jamaica location, the banh mi was not the same. I paid $13 for a sandwich with only scraps of meat. When I asked if more could be added, I was told the portion was correct, yet the sandwich was overwhelmingly 90% pickled daikon and carrots with barely 10% meat.
Overall, this visit was underwhelming compared to our past experiences. For a place weāve supported many times, the service felt careless and not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly positive thing about this place. Is the pho broth. The soup is warm and the flavor is strong. With a hint of sweetness like the pho in north Vietnam.
Here comes the negative. For a 14 dollar bowl pho. It comes with 3 slices of brisket, and 4 pieces of eye of round. Thatās it. No tripe, no tendon, no beef balls. I find that hard to accept. I can see my picture. There a lot of noodles but barely any meat.
SKIP the spring rolls. The spring rolls are most definitely store bought. The texture the taste. Everything about it is store bought. Even the dipping sauce is store bought. The spring rolls donāt even come with wrapping lettuce. Just couple slices of cucumber and a Thai sweet and spicy dipping sauce, not usual sweet fish sauce that normally comes with it. Skip skip skip.
The viet dripping coffee is also a skip too. The photo on the menu shows the actual dripping coffee but ur not getting that. Just a cup coffee with sweetener at the bottom.
Prob wouldnāt come back. Def a lot of potential butā¦. They need...
