Circle K — Local services in Newport

I don't even know where to begin, I will start with the pros, the store is always clean and on majority of occasions well stocked, the cashiers, all but maybe 2 are courteous but yet all of them lack any true customer service attributes. The store is open 24 hours for my convince. Now the cons, though not many, are heavily weighted in my reason for this review. I stated above the store is always clean, reason being, the store will close periodically In 20 minute increments to clean. This doesn't happen on a consistent schedule but can be at any time of the day. They also vacuum often at this store and the reason I know is that when they do, the vacuum cleaner is so loud even Helen Keller would be able to hear it. It floors me that they will continue to vacuum all the while the other cashier will be ringing the customer out. If your in a hurry, this is NOT THE PLACE to go. The line can be and is on quite a few occasions extremely long. When this happens there is absolutley ZERO sense of urgency to speed up the processThe cashier will have a conversation about the person's significant other being in jail, or will chit chat about what happen last night in Newport. I get it , everybody knows everybody , but when there are eight people in line it's not the time to chit chat, especially when you have to count 89 cents in pennies to pay for the polar pop. The manager , now here is the employee of the year candidate. I have seen this lady on more than one occasion go off on the customer due to consumer stupidity issues., i have seen her be very condesending to her employees, and just the other day there were 9 people in line, one cashier ringing, one cashier filling the cups for polar machine and Kitty on the floor putting truck away, she yells up front and says "you need any help" the cashier stated no, she's fineand we proceed to wait our turn. Why was that even a question? I could go on but if your reading this you get the review and have even experience it. It would be great if everyone was a bit more customer service oriented.That doesn't mean telling me thank you beautiful after just telling the guy in front of me with no teeth and last weeks jeans the exact same thing, or Kathy looking so angry and annoyed she can't stand life or me being there spending my money as she says bye., Chris flirting with the guy that cant leave her alone all the while I just stand there and wait and wait and wait as the line grows longer. Or Kitty being oblivious to us standing there 9 deep...

Older lady at the store today on the morning of Monday July 29th almost caused me to get fired. She doesn’t know how to add money to a PayPal and said they don’t do it. I go there frequently to do it though. PayPal app tells you to go there to do it also. With a big circle K icon and a map to give you directions. She argued with me being extremely rude saying I had to go somewhere else to do it. She was busy and clearly irritated from the second I walked up to the counter. She wasn’t taught how to add money to PayPal I assume which is extremely unfortunate for me today. I asked to speak to her boss she said they weren’t there. I then asked her to call him/her as it was very important. She refused that and basically told me to kick rocks. She said they don’t do it and can’t do it but they DO. I did just last week and have recites to prove it if needed. If they DIDN’T do it or COULDN’T do it then it wouldn’t be POSSIBLE to do it. Other stores that do not do it will not show up on PayPal’s app. PayPal only shows you the locations that can do it. The simple fact that I have been doing it for a long time and never had an issue until this morning speaks volumes. If the store didn’t want to be apart of adding money then why would they willingly sign up to do it? Makes no sense at all. I was in a hurry and just needed to add money to my card so I can order a ride to work and not be late. I’m a single father with full custody of my daughter I can’t afford to miss work or be late and because of this massive setback today I was extremely late and wrote up at work. I’m NEVER the person to write and leave bad reviews but today it REALLY screwed me big time. I’ve never had a single employee there deny me this before until today so it’s weird to me that this was a issue only today suddenly. I contacted PayPal to verify that this location DOES do this still and of course they said yes they do. I doubt anything will be done to fix or change this from circle k’s end so I will contact PayPal again and see if there is anything they can do to fix this issue or maybe hold circle k reliable for denying customers the service they chose to be apart of with PayPal I’m sure it’s some sort of breach of...

Worst store in Newport rude as can be lawsuit in the making whoever worked the first shift on date, 6/29/25 Whatever employee puts potty break on the door and disappears. Every every five minutes is one wicked racist, lady, and I mean to the point of I almost changed me and that woman’s life, but being that I didn’t want to ruin my day over a horrible lady with no regard or respect to a person that definitely Wasn’t disrespecting anybody hell my head was down until she started talking to me crazy because she didn’t want to do her job. I still didn’t get smart. And she’s just let every white person cut me and kept telling me to use the self checkout, but the self checkout was giving me problems and I couldn’t figure it out.
