The reason I'm giving such a bad review is because normally this is an excellent place for people that are homeless and have no money to go and get a good meal. But it really upsets me that they would be closed on New Year's Eve and New Year's. There's several people in this area that depend on these soup kitchens because it's the only meal they get a day so basically New Year's Eve and New Year's these people are missing out on a meal which I don't think is right. I understand on holidays like Christmas day they would be closed but to be closed for two days just for a holiday like New Year's is not right to allow the homeless to go two days without a meal. Like I said before this is an excellent place and has helped a lot of homeless people over the years but it seems like some things have changed here lately for the worse and something needs to be done about that because there are some peaple that are not financially privileged as others and the ones that are financially privileged should share the wealth because at any time they can lose everything and be in the same situation and they would be depending on these soup kitchens just like the rest of the homeless people in this area. I know for a fact because I've been on both side of the fences at one time I was financially stable and then me and my girlfriend ended up losing everything and we was homeless for over 6 months not having a penny to our name and was living in the back of a SUV and if it wasn't for these soup kitchens we would have starved to death. If you read the Bible Jesus says those who give unto others that are less fortunate will be blessed in the eyes of the Lord.Maybe people should read the Bible more often then they would be more considerate of others less fortunate...
Read moreI'd give them 5 if Angie was still there she was amazing and made it feel very welcoming compared to the people who are now running it. Anymore the ones running it comes across as if they're superior to the people they're supposed to be helping and it's a bother or hassle if you need to speak to any of them. Especially Karen, the woman that runs it weekends, acts as if her heart is going stop beating to have to talk to or heaven forbid help someone. The blonde is very snooty and her and Kim both have their favorites that they allow to do/get things others aren't permitted to. Kim is, above all, the best & most understanding person now working there...
Read moreThis is a most wonderful and truly an awesome place where any and everyone can go and receive a hot meal for the less fortunate than others without being judged. The personnel always greet you with a warm smile and kind words. They also are very attentive to individual needs and will go out of their way to help a person with whatever they can do or direct a person to where they can better be helped. It is truly the work of what God, Jesus, or a higher power, will and can do for everyone who seeks that kind of love. God blessed the Hosea House with the strength to do this and the personnel should be given thanks everyday that they are there!...
