Amazing experience in Newport Verizon this past week just prior to the New Year.I went into Verizon extremely upset nearly in tears because I woke up with my iPhone stuck with a spinning loading screen and I waited nearly 4 hours for it too change which It never did and I was unable to turn it off or reset it. I contacted Apple and they walked me thru a bunch of options which none of work and their only option left was too send me a new phone leaving me without one for up to a week or more which wasn't possible because it's the only means of communication with my husband who is currently deployed :( I was recommended to go see the tech at Amcomm in Newport by numerous people via my FB. Trusting their advice, I took the my iPhone in and thankfully their tech Dustin was working. He took the time to fully explain what the issue was and how he would have to fix it after the methods I tried and he tried with me together failed he explained my options and what the next steps would be to have a working phone again.
I'm not someone who fully understands technology but he took the time to explain it in terms I understood and what exactly he would do to my iPhone in order to fix it which involved removing my screen. My biggest concern was losing my personal files and my contacts but he assured me that would not happen and had me sign my device in and within 15 minutes I had my phone working again and couldn't be happier.
He also took the time to explain to me how to prevent it from happening again and about current issues that are effected some iPhones world wide which I would've never known otherwise.

Read moreThis is by far the best Verizon in-store experience I have ever had. Gil is top notch at his job, customer service, and interacting with other humans. He made everyone feel seen and assured them he would be with them as soon as possible. This is the third Verizon store I went into trying to upgrade my iPhone. I didn't appreciate being ignored upon entering the store and standing around while waiting for the person to even acknowledge me at the other locations. Gil was the only one there and was able to multi-task to satisfy everyone's needs. He is super knowledgable and personable. I wound up buying newer technology for my phone like this magnetic wireless charging pad and a WeBoost and some other pieces that I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to operate if it hadn't been for Gil's teaching and reassurance. I think Gil should be teaching other reps his skills as he shines and I appreciate his attention to those he helps in the moment as well as those who enter the store while he is helping someone else. Read moreWas very misled by a salesman, Dylan, who promised a significant discount ($350) when upgrading to a new phone. Despite my old phone not having any trade in value, he assured me (on multiple occasions) he would still process the discount and that it would apply to my account after 1-2 billing cycles. Fast forward to 3 months later and it still hadn’t applied. During the customer support process, they found no documentation of the promised deal. After several hours on the phone, Verizon management (outside of this location) was able to give a partial/incomplete credit to my account, but it was a stressful experience. Make sure to get written proof of a deal in writing from the start (my concerns were brushed aside when I commented on not seeing the deal documented on the initial receipt at the day of sale); they don’t seem to follow through on promised deals. I have had somewhat better experiences at actual verizon stores (not private “authorized retailers”) and don’t recommend using an authorized retailer in the future—I feel very taken...
