7/9/25—After our blessed adventure to get raw milk from the farm, we decided to hunt down something different for dinner—Chinese food. Now, I wasn’t really hungry, but beef with broccoli had been living rent-free in my mind for a few days , so off we went.

When we got there, I offered to parallel park my husband’s brand new Cadillac. Let me just say… it’s been a long time since I put on a parking comedy show like that. I’m still getting used to the spaceship—I mean, car. And it’s a Cadillac, so no pressure, right? Let’s just say a few pedestrians probably stayed to see how the episode ended. “Life is too short to take yourself too seriously—especially when parking in public.”

Eventually, we walked into the restaurant, a cozy, family-owned place. I saw what looked like a mom and daughter cooking, and the husband was running the register. I immediately thought, “This is going to be good.” And I was right. The food felt more home-cooked than restaurant-style, which I loved. I make my own beef with broccoli, and this one tasted like something your neighbor brings over because they made too much and know you’ve had a long day. That kind of flavor.

We took the food to go and brought it back to our rental lake house. Lunch was simple: beef with broccoli, an Olipop soda, and a million-dollar view. With view of the lake, I thought to myself, “It’s not about what’s on the table—it’s about the peace around it.” Oh and I also ordered Crab Rangoons they offer small and large , oh , that was a blessing , small was just...

I have never had a bad experience with this place. So far as I know it is still take out only. The food is always been good, service is speedy, and the folks are perfectly pleasant to deal with. The only issue we ever had was that they ran out of spring rolls, and they called when they got to the order and we just substituted something else. The Crab rangoons are fantastic - some places are a bit sweet on the filling or some other flavor that stops you after two or three, but you can eat a whole bag here if you felt so inspired. The soups are also very good, I don't promise to be an expert on Chinese soup, but based on previous ones I've had of the same types they were very good - personally, my favorite is the wonton soup. I can also speak highly for the lo mein, bourbon chicken, pepper steak and onions, and various other dishes. I'm not sure, but I think in the last year the takeout box sizes are a bit smaller, but they are still more than enough for two meals so maybe it's just a different form factor. We usually order well more than we need because it reheats perfectly well anyway. All in all, highly...

Normally I'd give them 4 or even 5 starts because I LOVE their food. Not sure what to think after attempting to order just before 9 the other night, they don't close until 10, but being told no because they were cleaning the kitchen! Not only upset by them closing early, or that they still answered phone just to refuse my business, or that they said they were cleaning the kitchen, but VERY concerned by the way BOTH people I spoke to (yup I called 20 minutes later too try again lol) acted as if cleaning the kitchen was a huge deal and uncommon instead of something done AT LEAST daily (I believe it should be done consistently throughout the entire day, but that's me I guess). I am truly hoping it was something else and they just chose the wrong thing to say it at least said it wrong because they're one of my very favorite...

Horribly dry, hard and limp beef teriyaki (see photo below). To spend $70 or $80 for two people and get food that is inedible. Not sure why there are 5 star reviews. If you know what good food is, avoid this place. This is why so many restaurants go out of business. The chicken teriyaki is ok and also the chicken fingers, but it hard to dry out chicken. Not recommend.

Good food, decent prices, nice atmosphere. A small restaurant in a little historic Main Street area. Will visit again.
