Volunteer Fitness Center in Newport, Tennessee is one of the best gyms around this area, and they have great pricing. The whole facility stays clean, including the restrooms, showers, and changing rooms. The owners and staff work their butt off to keep it that way and to maintain the upkeep on the equipment. They have an awesome selection of equipment including tanning beds, and a separate room to stretch or work on your poses for competition prep. You have 24/7 access and it is great place for anyone to begin/continue your fitness journey, and in my experience there, it is never overly crowded. Open 24/ 7, they say. Maybe they mean metaphorically. First time I came by, it was on a Saturday after their staged hours expired. Second time I came by, during staffed hours to find a sign on the door that they'd be closed from 1 to 6 that day. Third time trying to work out there, came during staffed hours and no one there. And no one answered the phone. I realize that I'm the big dummy for trying to get into this place 3 times. I sincerely hope it's an awesome gym. But I will clearly never find out. Okay... This gym is perfect for what I need right now. I was done with the community center once they did their 'upgrade' which put the gym in full view of anyone being checked in. I didn't want the National Fitness Center's yearly rip off rate. Ben is a good guy, willing to help you with anything you need. His staff does the same. I have full access any time it is convenient for my schedule, unlike the community center, who was closed every time I had time to work out! I'm grateful he chose our community to place...
