Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Newport

I use to go to sonic all the time but the past few visits, it has been disappointing to say the least. Last night I went there and ordered 3 combos. Waited for 20 minutes and watched other people leave that pulled up after us. So I push the button and asked , whats the hold up? The guy replied, "well what did you have?" I told him and he replied , no we haven't even started on it yet ? I asked , well why not? He replied, how are you paying cash or card? I told him I tried to pay with card but the screen went back to home before it charged my card. He said the girl will be out in a second to help you., and he cut off his mic. Waited 3 more minutes and I left. Its always the night time crew we have issues with , never the morning crew. The car hop girl was just plain obnoxious.. being loud and speaking very unprofessional. Arguing with a drunk lady across from us. Not a single employee was wearing gloves or a mask either, which I'm not sure if its a requirement but not protection whatsoever. Thats...

I've been here about 3 times now, the first, the carhop was taking food and drinks out (randomly). Many of us had to get up and go to the door. Took 40 mins and my order was still wrong. I ended up leaving and a few others did as well. Second time the order was correct and the food was GREAT! Went back again last night and the car hop (blue hair) didn't even greet us. Didn't say anything just started passing food and drinks. I handed her a tip and she was still silent. I think she said bye, nothing else. I used to work for sonic (in a different state) and I would never be rude to customers like that. My tips depended on it. The food this time was EXTREMELY dry (like it had been held a while) popcorn chicken. Worst service ever!!! I sat at the drive thru speaker for a solid 10 minutes and kept saying hello even honked my horn. Nothing ,…..nobody says anyhing. Instead of holding up the entire drive thru line , I proceed to the window to order. Well finally got to order at the window, afterwards I got my slushee within 3mins, then sat 23 minutes at window!!!! when all I ordered was two plain cheeseburgers and a small blue slushie. 🤦‍♀️ The ladies in the drive thru were gossiping and more focused on talking rather than working.
