This “truly” is our very favorite “pet store!” We live in western Massachusetts, coming to Boston so I can get treatments at the extraordinary Dana Farber Institute & found this amazing store, completely by accident, while eating at the nearby “LEGAL SEAFOODS “( yummy!), I fortunately spotted this store. The name of this store( love it!!!) instantly intrigued me so I stopped by& instantly loved it. While staying at the nearby “HOMEWOOD SUITES” (fantastic hotel!)while undergoing operation at “Brigham Women’s Faulkner” ( best care ever & can’t say enough good things about care I received at both “Dana Farber Institute,Brigham Women’s Faulkner” & nearby “HOMEWOOD SUITES” Brookline-Chestnut Hill, is first time we spotted Polka Dot Dog. As already noted I was in “tough shape”, walked in & decided on huge bag of Oregin Dog food( my dogs “LORENZO & GRACIE” love it & so good fir them. The store clerk could not have been more helpful, directing me immediately to this brand plus pointing out snacks for my dogs that they might like! I ended up buying two stuffed lobsters & one crab for my dogs & two neighbors plus a whale, home baked sweet potato fries which my two dogs go crazy for, duck snacks for neighbor’s dogs & my own, plus all kinds of goodies for my dogs! I was not planning on buying anything when I went in but bought so much that I couldn’t carry at once but the store employee was phenomenal, offering to carry it to our car, parked close to Legsl Seafoods! On top of it, it was poured nx but this young woman said “No big deal” & said she was happy to carry the huge bag of Origen to my car plus so much else. Another clerk watched the store. Each time since I have gone into this store & without fail, I am greeted the moment I walk into this store! No matter if it is a young man or two different young ladies, without fail, I get the same extraordinary, caring help. Each time they offer to carry my dog food out to the car & instruct me on what would be the best items for my Shorky & BICHON Frisée! Every single person working here, without fail has been totally knowledgeable in what the store Carrie’s, what my dogs might like & where it is located in the store. Not once have I encountered an apathetic attitude, tried to duck helping me or a cursory attitude which I have encountered in unnamed pet stores in my area, “IF” you can even find anyone to help you! Polka dot Dogs shop without fail, never fails to charm me & keep me as a loyal customer, regardless of the distance from where I live for happily, I can order online! Their huge selection of dog food & dog treats is amazing plus they are attractively displayed at their Brookline shop on the wall, in baskets & great huge glass apothecary jars, lining the counter but as before mentioned their superb customer service is completely unmatched!!! I need to mention again that due to my operations & bad health, I wasn’t initially able to carry everything to car, but the employees suggested ( offered) immediately they would carry this to the car, even in the pouring rain! I told them I would have my husband move my car up to the door but they said “No, I will carry this to the car for you!” I was shocked at their customer service! Since then( I treat myself after treatments at Dana Farber to lunch or dinner at Legal Seafoods) we always, “ALWAYS” stop at “Polka Dot”dogs! They carry cat items too! Each time I return ( over two & a half yrs now!) I receive the same amazing caring help from this store’s employee! Even without treatments, we make a special trip to this store!! If you have any “fur babies” this is the shop you need to frequent! I guarantee all your questions will be answered & you will get the best customer care ever, plus the plethora of dog & cat offerings( natural & good for your pets) is phenomenal! I've been coming here for years, and while the merchandise is good, the people who work here are useless. The whole point of a brick and mortar pet store is that it's a place to bring your dog, and I am more than willing to pay a premium for that experience. Today. I walked in with my Lhasa Apso puppy, and we were virtually ignored by the two young ladies working in the store. No treats... no interest in the pup. I could have walked in with a brick on a leash. We struggled to find a harness that fit the pup, and we received absolutely no input from them whatsoever. It should be a place the pet wants to visit. Reluctantly, I did make a purchase, but it was essentially self-service. Today, we were totally ignored, and if that's the case, I'll take my business to Boston Barkery, where I've found the employees much...

This is easily our dog’s favorite store.

Idk if it’s all dog owners, but we love to seek out new dog/pet stores whenever we are in a new area and this particular Polka Dog Is by the best in our opinion.

First, it’s a local Boston company making dog treats. The wide variety of products they make are fantastic and have become the go to’s for high value treats. We appreciate they are very product transparent and use very few ingredients.

Second, the staff is always extremely kind and friendly. Retail is a hard gig and I genuinely appreciate that the staff make coming here so easy.

Third, they have large bulk buy jars so you can make your own treat mix and pay by weight. In addition you and your pup are able to sample any treat. How amazing and generous.

Oh yeah and they have a free freaking...
