GODBY FURNITURE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ELDERLY Noblesville, Indiana I am writing on behalf of my 95-year-old father regarding 2 power recliners purchased in good faith on July 29, 2024, at $1,500 per chair, along with an extended warranty. Unfortunately, the product has proven to be faulty, highly uncomfortable and functionally inadequate, even after an attempted repair.
Main Issues: • Chair is broke down and leans to the right making it uncomfortable and causes three pressure points; extra pillows are required for basic comfort. Makes a horrible noise when reclining like gears grinding. • My dad uses the chair most of the day and sometimes sleeps there, making comfort and function essential. He weighs a total of 145 pounds. He has not harmed the chair by sitting in it. • The controller dangles loosely and is difficult to manage. • Chair leans and pitches to the right, causing the user to slide out, which is dangerous. • The chair is cold to the touch, adding to discomfort. • Despite a service request, the repair process took six months—from connection to part delivery and installation—and the repair was unsuccessful. Now they have scheduled another service technician to try to repair the exact same thing. This is the second time in the first six months the chair has to be repaired. Results were the same. The chair has quality issues.

I paid by credit card $1095 and next day paid $1100 in cash as a down payment to schedule delivery but they ask for more down payment in cash which I don’t have in this time and asked them to use my debit card to pay it but they said it should be in cash. When I went back home thought about it and decided to cancel the table and chairs but keep the buffet then on the following day I went to cancel the dining table and chairs and asked them for refund and I was completely surprised by her answer that they will refund me within 10 days by check and they will take all my down payment to pay the buffet which is not discounted item and she refused to refund me by total amount she charged from credit card and this was the opposite of what she said in the beginning that not discounted items should paid by cash only. In this time I asked here to speak with the store manager and when I was explaining the situation she gave me her back to give him signs to not do what I was asking to refund all the amount charged on my credit card but because I know my rights the manager said he will do it and the company will fire him. Read moreI scheduled out our home furniture delivery so that we could ensure our entire bedroom set would be in stock. This meant waiting a few weeks. When the day arrived the delivery team missed the bed portion of the set because it was never added to the delivery ticket. I inquired about missing bed with our original salesmen and he said that it arrived the day after my delivery date. On the same day I called to inquire about it. How convenient? Like with most people it's difficult to schedule these things with work life and traveling plans so I did not wait the 3-4 days it was going to to take them to honor the delivery. I picked the item up at the warehouse the next morning. The fact of it is they did not deliver the totality of the set on the date they said they would so I asked for a partial refund on the delivery. I went back and forth with the one of the store managers that never called me back after she said she would. I waited a few more weeks and still no call. So I called yesterday and store the manager said they will not be refunding any of the delivery fee.
