I was only in Norfolk for a few hours but looked online to see if there were any train stores in the area. Any time I go to a new area I try to check out new train stores. Upon finding it online I saw their Facebook page and how the owner Gloria would do her train set picks for the week and so forth. Upon arriving there not only was the staff incredibly friendly but the selection of trains in all scales was incredible. I met the owner and she took the time to show me around and help me find items I might be interested in. I originally just wanted to get a Lionel car and ended up walking out with an engine that I loved. She insisted on showing me that it worked and was one of the friendliest owners of a train store that I ever met. She was funny and she definitely loves what she does. I live in New Jersey and there is no doubt in my mind that I will go there again to get another train in the very near future. Thank you for...
Read moreDale’s is a one of a kind store that sells every scale of model train and a crazy amount of old school toys. It’s literally the largest toy store I’ve ever been to. They have a huge selection of O scale Lionel from every era! I’m an o scaler but the selection of HO and N scale is respectable as well. Dales is always buying new collections and adding to the inventory so there is always something new to find. Best thing, is if your looking for something specific they will even keep and eye out for it and find it for you. If your trains need repairs they do that too! It’s a one stop shop kind of place. I’ve never had better customer service either. They helped me search the store for exactly what I wanted and I had a great conversation while doing it. If your looking for an adventure this is the...
Read moreI have not visited this store in a couple of years but in the past I have always had a great experience. This store is also a museum. The inventory is tremendous and the store is huge filled with lots and lots of premium trains for all scales and all periods of time. If I had a bottomless amount of funds I would visit more often. I also had the opportunity to have a couple of my engines serviced and brought back to life. I hope dales trains remain open for as many more years to come. Train stores are a dying breed with many youth today not engaged in the hobby and the older hobbyist moving along in time. I always hope that the train hobby will continue to thrive. Dales is keeping the...
