I have been visiting the store almost on a weekly basis for years. It used to be awesome, but in the past year, the prices have gone up, ridiculously up. ( Maybe a new person who does not know how to price used items? ) I noticed upon my visit today that their paint products were the same and some items were even more expensive than Lowes and Walmart. Since they have the new location, I've noticed the knick knack stuff hasn't moved because they have it priced so high. This is donated, garage sale type items, and they put brand new retail/ antique store prices on them. I guess they do not realize most of the people who go there are also lower income, who specifically shop there to get a discount. The biggest problem I have with them happened last year. A gorgeous, antique stove sat there for almost a month. Everytime I went there, I would hear numerous people ask about it, and everytime I heard the "main lady" is keeping it. So basically, the staff get first dibs and finest free pickings of all the donations, then they up charge the rest of the crappy stuff to make up for it. That is not non-profit level professionalism. They could have made good money on that stove for the organization. I have almost given up on them. I liked shopping there to help the community, and also to help my own low income lifestyle. But since their prices have skyrocketed, whilst my paycheck has not gone up, I can no longer justify buying used items for the same cost as buying them...
Read moreThese people are the rudest most unprofessional and disrespectful people I have EVER encountered in any customer service profession. Went to their store today to pick up a 5 gallon bucket of paint. The wall CLEARLY STATED $15 5 Gallon. I grab a bucket and head to the counter to check out. The cashier (which is so slow that I literally had time to finish two chapters of a book at the counter) tried to charge me 45.00!!! What??? I said excuse but the sign says 15, this old woman says to me âwell youâre wrong. Itâs 45.00 take it or leave it.â My mouth swung open! Excuse me? I said... she says âdo you want it or not? I have other people behind you.â I was in shock seriously. So I say no I do not want to. I put it down and walk to the back to speak with a manager. I see another employee and I say âexcuse me sir, but could you help me?â He looks at me rolls his eyes right at me and said âIâm busy, youâll have to wait till Iâm done or find someone else.â Turns and walks away!! At that point I was done!! This place is not worth the rudeness or the unprofessionalism by the âemployeesâ here! I will never be back to...
Read moreMANAGER IS AWFUL. Employees broke my item and them my husband got injured by the neglect and careless of the individuals and when concerns were trying to be express. The manager came up with a POOR and AGGRESSIVE behavior NOT PROFESSIONAL at all. I do ALOT of business with Habitat and NEVER had issues or concerns until now. Not only that but my husband was asked to leave and the Manager was aggressively promoting confrontation to my husband and the minor we had with us. This isnt what Habitat is about . I made contact with the Operation Headquarters and they will be resolving the issues with the unprofessional individual that is representing thier stores and name. I trust this will be resolved and my attorney doesnt have to be involved. I just dont want other shopper to be treated...
