My father’s wallet, keys, and phone were stolen from his hospital room while he was unconscious after surgery. As soon as my siblings and I realized it we tried to report the items stolen. Apparently in Norristown if you are unconscious and can’t report these items stolen yourself the police do not care. The woman who took them even SHOWED the officer that she has them in her possession & ADMITTED to taking them… they still did nothing. She is not his wife, she is not family, she is a thief. Apparently all you have to do is tell the officer you were given these items and they become yours. So if you are looking for a way to make some quick $$$$ robbing unconscious people in hospitals is the way to go in Norristown because all you have to do is say the items belong to you. i was in a domestic violence relationship with my sons dad where i was dependent on him while he was living in norristown. norristown police were called countless times for his abuse towards me and they did absolutely nothing. my sons dad is a convicted felon for his abuse towards me and was out on probation. multiple times i’ve explained my injuries and the causes and only just recently was “something” done. my sons dad was charged with simple assault in the 3rd degree which is MUTUAL COMBAT. absolutely ridiculous and heartbreaking, im going to continue to fight until the police are far more educated on domestic violence. abusers are tactical, manipulative and a lot of victims of DV suffer especially when the police are far from helpful like they’re...

BEWARE THE NPD ARE INCOMPETENT:

I strongly advise against moving to Norristown based on my experience with the Norristown Police Department. They are INCOMPETENT, unresponsive, and completely fail at their basic duty to protect and serve. When my sister called after a domestic violence incident, officers turned her away and told her they had “other important matters” to deal with — leaving her vulnerable and terrified. This department doesn’t respond unless someone is dying. They ignore calls for help and treat serious situations like an inconvenience. If you care about your safety or your family’s safety, do not rely on this police department. Their indifference and incompetence cost people peace of mind — and could cost lives....
