Luis Espina, MD — Local services in North Arlington

My appointment was originally scheduled for 2:30 p.m. I called the office mid-morning to ask if there were any cancellations or any earlier appointments available and I was told yes and to come in at 1:30 p.m. I arrived about 1:20 and checked in with receptionist. At 2:00 p.m. I went up to the front desk to ask when I was going to be seen because someone who came in after me went in. The front desk person told me that I had two appointments in front of me still and that I was only going to be seen at 2:30 I explained to the front desk person I was told to be there at 1:30 and they could see me. The only thing she replied to me was "you did not speak to me, I did not tell you that". I explained regardless of who I spoke to I was still told to be here at 1:30 so why am I only being seen at 2:30? The front desk person insisted on repeating that I did not speak to her I did not speak to her and I was only going to be seen at 230pm. Why would I come into the office an hour earlier???? The front desk person was very abrasive and rude and the only thing she kept on repeating was I did not speak to her! After a loud argument with the front desk group I was told to not come back to the office after being a patient at Dr Waxman for over...

I was recommended highly this doctor when I met him I just felt so at ease with his patience and form of hearing his patient ...But how the office works is absolutely awful and its sad when there is disrespect towards office manager and patient and we are wrong ..Im so heartbroken because you deserve respect no matter what youre illness is and its just hard to deal with stuff like this ...No matter how you respect and be nice its not worth it ..But I always say there is God that sees all and knows all ..And he knows what I experience today !!We are all going through stress with all the changes that are happening and we need to deal with it in the best way possible not hurting each other..Besides that I would say he is a great dr but should understand his patients more and be in there...

Dr. Espina is a caring knowledgeable doctor. When people complain they have to wait it is because the doctor takes his time to give the best care possible and answer any concerns each person has. That is worth the wait, to get that amount of care and time when it’s my turn with the doctor. Also the staff greets you with a smile, and are very nice to everyone that walks in the door not to mention the wonderful girl that does the work up prior to seeing the doctor.
