After several months I decided to give Empabake another try. I am so glad I did. I ordered rice, beans and pernil. The pernil was bursting with flavors! They even gave me the crunchiest Cuero!! No other pernil I've ordered as take out has compared. It was Amazing. The beef and cheese empanada was also a hit. Glad I gave them another try! Definitely not the last time I will order.
I was super excited for this spot to open. However, after being disappointed twice, I can't imagine ordering again. The first time I ordered, I ordered the mangu. The consistency was more mash potatoes than Mangu, and it was very bland. I decided to give them another try today. I ordered the roasted pork, which typically, if you see this item on a menu that serves other spanish dishes, you assume it's pernil. While placing my order, I even referred to it as such since I speak Spanish and so did the woman who took my order and was never told it's not pernil it's pork loin, which wouldn't be an issue, but it had zero flavor. Like none. I had a side order of rice and beans. The beans had no flavor at all. Next on my order was a Colombian empanada, which wasn't a traditional Colombian empanada and also would be fine but, another flavorless item. My boyfriend ordered the baked BBQ wings and a milk shake and was satisfied with both. I will give them credit for the freshness of the food and the quantity. Unfortunately, they lack the latin...
Read moreThe place is great. They have such a selection of empanadas. It is crazy for such a small store. And then on top of that you can get the most creative and absolutely delicious desserts, and smaller pastries there as well. The place is really really nice very modern sit outside parking a little bit tough but you know what it doesn’t matter if the food is good you’re gonna go there. They blow Stella’s away in customer service and an overall taste. Sorry, Stella is the worst customer service I ever saw my life. They’re also never open so I would go here. The only bad part if you wanna call that is it is very close to my house. Unbelievably just like Stella's. I am sitting on the side of a street in my car, eating a buffalo chicken empanada because I can’t wait to get back home with them, don’t know why I can’t take a picture because if I could, you would see me in my truck with a buffalo chicken empanada. Go here ALSO female...
Read moreQuaint little spot with a great front counter delicious selection of all types of empanadas from sweet to savory and another section with beautiful desserts that taste as good as they look. I wasn’t expecting much and assumed it was probably cuter in atmosphere than food was tasty but I was so suprised. Everything I’ve ordered from the Mangu breakfast, empanadas, tiramisu, cappuccinos, chicken soups- grilled chicken w rice and beans- it’s all been so good. Even their house salad is dressed perfectly - simple, old school and delicious- little gold nugget in North Arlington. Not to mention the women at the counter are so sweet and kind. Genuinely go out of their way...
