CubeSmart Self Storage — Local services in North Bergen

I had looked into several storage facilities in the North Bergen area and this one was by far the best. Konstantin was just great, very helpful in every way, on the ball and made the stressful experience that much easier. I can’t thank him enough. 😊 The facility is like new, very clean, organized, accessible for multiple pickup/drop offs at the same time without it being a problem or inconvenience for any particular customer, pricing is very favorable when compared to other local facilities and seems very secure.

I was working with a POD that potentially needed to remain overnight and that wasn’t a problem at this facility (I wish I would have known that sooner as it was an issue at the others I was thinking of using). For anyone using a POD, be advised that you pay extra for a same day drop off and pickup because most facilities will not allow an overnight stay. This is a plus at this facility because it costs as much as 1 month’s rent for a medium size unit, approximately $150, with some POD companies. So, it potentially saves you money up front.

For several times, I came across the door being left open after office hours and basically inviting anyone outside to go in and do whatever they want. I’ve seen someone going inside and locking himself in the bathroom for a long time. This place should be a secure location for their customers’ assets, not open for some people to go in and out anytime they want to. Most likely, the office people leaving the electronic door open for other customers and not closing it because they probably didn’t finish their moving.

Today is Saturday, tomorrow the office isn’t open. Not even mentioning the whole night and this door will be open until Monday morning. Totally unacceptable!

Someone can go in and break into any unit they want to. They can go and start a fire or leave the water in the bathroom on and cause flooding. Not only these, I can’t even imagine the bugs and pests going inside and getting inside the units.

Perfect storage facility. Friendly staff. Reasonable price. Perfectly clean all around. Recent construction. Bathrooms on every floor. Safe. Well lit. Easy parking. Two entrances (front and back). What else can we ask for.

Bait and switch tactic as commonly is the case in the industry in terms of rent increases. Our rate more than doubled over the period I had the unit.

security at the site is quite limited after hours. there was a period of several days where the secure door to the facility was left open completely. and I tried multiple times to report it and I was left with the impression the operators were annoyed with my call. To be fair, some supervisor called to follow up but they still didn't action it until days had passed.
