Harbor Freight — Local services in North Bergen

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent experience I had. I have always appreciated the products and services at Harbor Freight, but unfortunately, this visit left me feeling disappointed and disrespected.

During my visit, I was assisted by an employee named Arturo, who I believe is of Latino descent and had a distinctive Mohawk hairstyle. Despite patiently waiting for over 15 minutes, Arturo continuously helped other customers without acknowledging my presence. At no point during this time did he communicate with me about the delay or offer any explanation for why I was being overlooked.

I want to make it clear that had he communicated professionally or simply acknowledged my wait, I would have had no issue being patient. However, the complete disregard for my time and lack of professionalism made me feel as though I was being treated differently, possibly due to racial profiling.

I believe every customer deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their race or background. This kind of behavior not only reflects poorly on the individual but also on Harbor Freight as a company.

I am asking that this situation be addressed, and that corrective action be taken to ensure this does not happen to others in the future. I would appreciate a response detailing how this matter...

Great for what it is - a Harbor Freight...for all those reviewing here with unreasonably high expectations slamming the store and people that work here with pathetic one star reviews - this is a counterbalance to them. The store is clean, well organized, and the people are always willing to help if you ask. I’m taking a guess by saying 95% of the stuff in the store is made in China; hence the dirt cheap prices. Often, you can purchase 5 of anything in the store and still pay less than its equivalent at HD or elsewhere. Don’t expect quality on many of their items, period. But if you need a wrench you need to chop or file to perform a job you’ll do once or twice - this is the place to go. Great place to get gloves that you’ll surely destroy, and/or odd tools that’ll be seldom used. Just remember: EVERYTHING in this store is much lower quality than most name brands and IT’S OK...if you’re expecting Snap-on quality at Harbor Freight prices -...

I've been shopping at Harbor Freight Tools for a few years now, and overall, I'm pretty happy with the experience. Here's my take:

Harbor Freight has a huge selection of tools and equipment. Whether I need a new drill, some wrenches, or even a pressure washer, they seem to have it all. The best part is the prices – they’re a lot cheaper compared to other stores. I can usually find what I need without spending too much.

The quality of the tools can be hit or miss. Some items are just as good as the more expensive brands, but others might not hold up as well. For things I use occasionally, like specialty tools, the quality is good enough.
