I've had good and very bad experiences shopping here. They have a wonderful selection of wood slabs and are willing to work with you to find a particular piece if you don't need it right away. Their staff is very knowledgeable about their products and love to talk about the projects you are working on. My most recent experience however was extremely poor. I had two oak newel posts I needed help cutting since I didn't have the right tools and did not want to purchase a large band saw for only 2 cuts, so I emailed the wood shop with my request and provided pictures and measurements. I spoke with Chris and someone else who assured me they could make the cuts at a reasonable cost, just to call ahead before I came it. When I arrived at the shop, I had to wait a little bit, which was understandable based on the amount of customers in the store, but when I started to work with Chris to have my cuts made, it was like he didn't even read my email or have any idea how to make the cuts. We discussed possible solutions, but Chris didn't seem to listen to my opinion at all and after 30 minutes asked how much I was willing to pay for this service. I said about $50 and was pretty much laughed at for suggesting such a low price. I was told he wouldn't help me, rolled my pieces out of the shop and walked away without another word. I was taken aback at how condescending he was and how little my input mattered. I was able to make the cuts on my own with some help from friends and some creative dado cuts, but it took much longer than it would have if I had a larger saw. In the end, I will probably still shop here, but I will NEVER frequent the woodshop again or sign up for classes with Chris.

WoodCraft was highly recommended by a serious DIY neighbor. Throughout our experience we found the staff exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful. We were in search of a natural edge wood slab for a bar top for a kitchen remodel. The staff took the time to work with us through the different options of wood, slab style and what the final outcome would look like. In particular Tosin went above and beyond to assist us in the process. We felt that he cared about our project and worked to guide us to options that matched our needs. The level of customer service he provided deserves 10 stars especially considering the challenges presented by the Covid 19 pandemic. Matt was very helpful in the introductory stages of the process. Ralph's knowledge and detailed instructions addressed the next steps in the preparation of the wood and ensured we had the correct tools and supplies. His shared experience was priceless, his enthusiasm was sincere and his wisdom was sublime. I have not considered taking a wood working class until I witnessed the passion Ralph exhibited in guiding me through this project. The whole team worked very hard to delve into their inventory to find exactly what we are looking for. The gentleman working in the warehouse prepared the slab with great skill and efficiency. We purchased a beautiful piece of walnut as you can see below. This piece will be a treasured part of our home and we have Woodcraft in Rockville to thank for it every step of the way. When you think of wood, you should think of them. September Update. Pictures of the final installation of slab. It worked out perfectly and looks great

Went to Woodcraft to find a drawknife, and some wood for a hammer handle. The person at the register helped me pick out some wood which was great for my needs. Also like the selections of tools and materials I can use for other projects. I will be shopping here for wood crafting materials in the near future.

The shop looked really nice, first time over and would have loved to look around some more. Upon walking in I was barely greeted, I asked for the SawStops and after a few seconds of giving me directions to the show room, one of the employees finally decided to take me there and show it to me. We spent a few minutes playing with it, but I had already made my mind to buy it. All this time no one told me that there was none in stock at their store, of course no willing to sell the floor model either. What’s the point of showing me a model if I can’t buy one and the shipping takes over a month to the store. Long story short was a waste of a trip, to see some employees with no desire to talk to me and tell me I was better of ordering online for an internet xtra $100. I really like the store, and maybe I didn’t look like a savvy wood worker or who knows, but the costumer service was definitely lacking. If you are in the market for saw stop, do yourself a favor and order online, save the gas and...
