I am use to an upscale day spa for my waxing services, facials, massages & hair! The girl left where I was going so needless to say it had been many, many month's without waxing. My daughter kept telling me to try Claudia! I happened to drive past the place & pulled over & called them to try & get an appt. I was told to come right now ( it would take me a week or more to get an appt at my old place). I showed up and was greeted very pleasantly. Filled out my paper work and next thing I knew the lady (can't remember her name) took me to the room. I was very nervous but we just "clicked" so I was a bit more relaxed. She did do things a bit different than I was used to but I can honestly say EVERY piece of hair was gone. Where as the place I had used would always leave a few hairs behind. They do use a hard was which really is the best to use when waxing that area. Sugaring works good for sensitive skin. The young lady actually used hard wax fist & then polished the rest off with the sugar. Yes it hurts however, the more you do it the less painful it becomes. Also keeping the waxing up on a regular schedule helps with the pain too. Since hair grows in cycles each time you go there will be less hair than the first. Everyone there was very sweet, polite & very professional. And as far as the price....I paid for 2 waxes plus a "nice" tip and it was still cheaper than 1 visit where I had been going. And because my daughter referred me there she will get $5 off her next visit! They did not try to sell me any packages, lotions or potions while I was there. I did buy the numbing cream and even with that I asked about it, it was not "pushed" on me. I can honestly say that I will always go to Claudia's from now on!! The only thing I would suggest that they do different is to leave you a warm wet cloth so that you can wipe the extra wax off between your cheeks before dressing. The atmosphere is very relaxing & comfortable. Most of all EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN! I notice those things since I'm a clean freak! Please give this place a try.....I truly believe you will not be disappointed. Matter of fact I will be trying their facials as well since they are also cheaper than where I was going. Let’s start by saying very friendly reception. I had an appointment at 10am came in at 9 I asked can I get in early she said yeah bc someone cancelled which was a plus got a girl I never had before. 1st thing I told her the wax was to hot she kinda brushed it off like I never said anything. 2nd I’ve been getting wax for about 3 years now and never have my wax ever hurt soo bad in my 3 years I advised her that it hurt wayyy more than usual and she ask me if my cycle was about to start and I said yeah and she said well that’s why it hurt so bad like I said I’ve been getting wax for about 3 years and I’ve even gotten wax a day before my cycle and never had it hurt so bad before. 3rd the rooms are ALWAYS dirty they don’t clean up in between appointments they don’t wipe the bed off or anything they just pull a thin mesh bed cover that doesn’t even cover the whole bed they pull that down and then on to the next person. 4th after she was done and she left the room so I could change there were soooo much left over wax and wax strings that I had to pull off myself I just feel like cleaning up all left over wax should be included and it never is!!! 5th thing is she left ALOT of visible hair she didn’t even try to go over it a second time and i know that if i can see it from me looking down she can see it from her looking directly at it. I have been getting waxed here for 3 years. Claudia gave me my first wax ever. I booked an appointment for a much needed wax and I am appalled at the customer service I received today. I arrived at their temporary location 10 minutes late to my appointment because I was not advised they had moved. I was told by the receptionist that I would probably need to be rescheduled. I explained I was late because I was not notified that they moved. She implied that I should have received a text message. I had not been sent a message of any sort by text neither email. I refused to be treated like I’m the one at fault when their lack of communication is clearly why I was late. A sign on the door is the only notification I was given after wasting my time driving to the old location. The sign also stated the temporary location is only 5 minutes away. It’s not possible to get from the area they are located on Rivers Avenue to the new location off of Ashley Phosphate Road in 5 minutes. Both roads are always congested. I am now typing this as I await my new appointment set with another spa in Summerville. I really hope you treat others better than you did me.
