If I could give Texas Roadhouse in North Charleston, SC zero stars, I would. This restaurant has become a living testament to how a once-respected chain can fall disastrously short of expectations. My recent visit was nothing short of a nightmare. To start with, the service was abysmal. After being seated, my party and I waited an excruciating 40 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When the server finally arrived, she was clearly on something and seemed to forget our table existed more than once. We never even got a single refill, and our food took 2 hours to arrive despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. I was so thirsty and just done with waiting I sent my wife to the gas station down the road to pick up drinks to keep my thirst quenched.(He got back before the food showed up) It was baffling to see so many staff members milling about while our plates remained conspicuously absent. When the food finally arrived, it was a profound disappointment. The steak, which is supposed to be the star of the menu, was overcooked and tough as leather. I had ordered mine medium-rare, but it came out more like well-done. The sides were equally dreadful; the mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy, and the green beans seemed to be floating in a pool of grease. Iâve had better-quality food from a microwave at a gas station. The ambiance of the restaurant didnât do anything to redeem the experience. The decor felt like it hadnât been updated since the early 2000s, and the noise level was unbearable. It felt more like a chaotic food court than a place where youâd want to enjoy a meal. The tables were sticky, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. Itâs clear that maintaining a sanitary environment isnât a priority here. At my table there were fries all over the ground before I got there and I was surprised they even had fries at the table to begin with. Additionally, when I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager, he was dismissive and unapologetic. Instead of addressing the issues or offering any form of compensation, he merely shrugged it off and gave a half-hearted âsorry about thatâ before returning to his desk. Overall, Texas Roadhouse in North Charleston is a colossal letdown. Itâs clear that the management needs a serious overhaul, and the kitchen staff could use a wake-up call about what constitutes decent food preparation. Save yourself the frustration and moneyâthere are countless other dining options that wonât leave you regretting every moment spent there. I will be taking my business to mcdonalds where they know how to treat a customer right and have some...
Read moreWhen we first arrived, we let the hostess know we were trying to call ahead to let them know we would need two high chairs but nobody answered. She ignored what we said as though itâs normal for them to not answer the phone. We were already on the waitlist but there was no option to let them know we needed them and I think that wouldâve been important for them to know ahead of time for our party size and because they were busy. The hostess told us itâll still be an extra 40-45min wait to be seated. It was busy so it wasnât an issue. an hour passes and we go to ask about how much longer it will be. We were told that they were waiting to clean off our table because the kitchen was backed up. Honestly not something I wanted to hear. Maybe donât tell people that and say the table is still being prepared? Anyway, we finally get seated. Had to ask for cutlery and plates. đ When we got our drinks, one of the cups had something in it like they didnât clean it all the way. We ordered our food and expected a slight wait bc we had 8 meals. I ordered a burger medium well, it was well done when brought to me. I asked for no onions only bc I still wanted tomatoes and lettuce, I got a plain burger. My sister in law ordered chicken with mushrooms, and the chicken was pink. I also asked for mustard AND honey mustard, the waitress disregarded what I said entirely and only brought back honey mustard. Once she came back with it, we informed her that the chicken was pink and she went to get her manager Chris. When he first came to the table I got this âI donât careâ attitude from him. The waitress had already taken her chicken to the back so I assumed he already knew what the issue was, but it wasnât a big deal to tell him again what we saw. Chris tried to blame the lights for making her chicken pink , but if that were the case, the other meals that had chicken on our table wouldâve also been pink but that wasnât the case. We didnât even get an apology from Chris for all of these things. We noticed that he was visiting a lot of tables today, so it was obvious we werenât the only guests having issues. I love Texas Roadhouse, but this location put a really bad taste in my mouth. We decided to just pay for our meals and leave bc the service truly wasnât up to par. Everybody seems like they donât want to be there. We will...
Read moreWe made the mistake of taking a large party here on a busy evening. Two and half hour wait but we waited as we had guests from out of town that wanted to eat here ( definitely not my first choice). There were 3 young ladies at the hostess station that took my info to be placed on the waiting list. She asked me how many in the party and then proceeded to let me know how the notification system works. At NO time did she nor the other two ladies tell me that our party of 11 would not be able to sit together or that they're not allowed to move tables (meanwhile the tables are kind of close so I don't know what difference it makes whether they have to move 1 table 2 inches closer) While we waited I called Longhorns to see how long their wait was. The young lady advised of the wait time and that we would be a 2 separate tables. Should've gone to Longhorns. The food is better and has better options. The only good thing that came from Texas Roadhouse was the bread and the server Candice who was absolutely the best! Very attentive and genuinely pleasant. She fought for us to be able to sit together after we were repeatedly told no. We all understand rules but we also understand accommodation and it's not like we demanded an entire section. The table they put us at sat 8..all we needed was 3 addtl seats. Candice was able to get us a booth right next to our table and said she didn't mind taking our group. We definitely made sure she wasn't going to get in trouble for doing so because even a mgr said no and didn't even bother to come explain why (and don't say they have better things to do because in the service industry customer service takes priority). There were 3 additional tables in the section that were available but they refused to let us sit together and said if the tables are assigned they cant unassign them. Wth kind of system is that????!!! Also why ask how someone wants their steak cooked if you're not going to give it to them the way they asked? We asked for well done and got medium rare. That's not the same thing smh. Candice was this place's only saving grace. You best believe my money won't be spent here again. Spent almost $300 in this place and had to fight to get 3 seats. The math just isn't adding up and not worth the annoyance AND the food wasn't that great. My mom ended up throwing hers...
