The restaurant was easily found, although the parking lot was a bit crowded, we had to park behind the building and walk around - no big deal. When we got in, the hostess said it was going to be a half an hour wait, I went to the bathroom, and when I came back my husband had a table so that was a happy surprise. The rolls and cinnabutter with drinks were brought out immediately, they were fresh and hot and were really good. We ordered the rib appetizer, they were the very best we have ever had, hands down amazing!! My husband ordered the beef tips with mashed potatoes and chili, I ordered the portobello chicken with mashed potatoes and chili, and our toddler got mini cheese burgers with fries. Our food came in a fair amount of time 15-20 minutes, but it all looked like it had been sitting for 10+ minutes or so. My food was warm but my husband's was cold and everything had a film over it. I decided to eat mine and let our restless toddler eat as well but my husband decided to send his back due to how cold it was and the film over it. The waitress was nice and polite as well as very apologetic, she took his pate back and my husband had to sit there and watch my daughter and I eat while he waited on his plate, the manager brought a new plate over about 10-15 minutes later. It looked completely different, it was hot and fresh. My husband said the taste was decent, it was just a little mushy even though it was cooked medium. As he was eating he found a blue piece of plastic in his food, when we showed it to the waitress, she took it back to the manager and we found out it was a piece of the blue rubber glove that is used by the cooks. The manager apologized for everything and offered -$10 from our bill which we appreciated. My husband ate his food but by this time my aggitated toddler and I had been done eating for a while, I tried to passify her as much as you possibly can a full-of-life 16 month old while my husband finished eating. As far as flavor goes, I have ZERO complaints, really good food, as far as our wait staff goes she was really pleasant, no issues, but as a whole experience I was put off. I wouldn't come back a second time just due to how many things I was unsatisfied with.

This is usually our go to place for a casual steak. It's about a thirty minute drive, but it's worth it. All three of us always get the same thing - a 16 ounce sirloin steak. We were seated by 6:30 and they weren't too busy. There was no wait this time. We ordered cocktails and our meal. But the waitress returned to tell us that they were out of 16 ounce sirloins and would we like a 16 ounce ribeye instead. We probably wouldn't have stayed if we were told this before our drinks arrived. The most similar steak was a NY Strip which was $3 more a steak and we asked the waitress to see if the manager would not charge extra since they were out of the sirloin. The manager didn't come to the table but relayed to us that we could get two 8oz sirloins for the same price as the 16 oz sirloin but we decided to pay the extra money because an 8oz would most likely not be cooked as rare as a 16oz. We also ordered the Tater Skins and were told they were out of those also. It took a bit longer than usual before our steaks arrived. A different server placed them in front of us not asking who got medium and who got medium rare. It turns out that that is because none were medium rare. The steak I was served had a large strip of fat along one side. It was probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the steak. The manager came to the table at the end of our meal and took 10 dollars off the 27 dollar steak. She said that they don't serve many 16 ounce sirloins so it's not a big deal they were out. And just shrugged about the Tater Skins. Our evening was such a disappointment. To be honest, I don't usually leave reviews and if I had left one at our previous visits it would have been 5 stars for the food. If we go back and it's better again, I will leave a review again. The atmosphere is always too noisy so my stars for that wouldn't change. And the waitress this time wasn't very personable and never refilled our waters.

EDIT: I have to update this review to address the "store policy" regarding seating. It is absolutely insanity that this restaurant will not sit you before your full party arrives- FOR A PARTY OF 2. I have to add that I also asked for a table of 1.. the hostesses told me that was fine but that they wouldn't allow my husband to sit with me if he showed up. This is crazy. I could be ordering food and drinks right now and eating... but due to an absolutely sideways policy I can't. This review is specifically about the to go order/curbside. This restaurant no longer has curbside pick up. Instead, someone thought it was a good idea to create a walk up to go window by the front entrance. I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea, but they should be fired. Horrible idea. Firstly, there is never ever parking up front for this restaurant. Secondly, this new window fails to take in mind people with disabilities who would have to walk up to said window and additionally disregards families who often have children in tow when they pick up their food. Now, you and your whole crew get to park at the back of the restaurant and walk to the front and wait outside. This was truly an absolutely horrible and poorly thought out decision. Please change this back to the way it was before. None of your customers approve this change. I can’t even put into words how dumb this decision was for this restaurant. Please fix this asap.

If I could give Texas Roadhouse in North Charleston, SC zero stars, I would. This restaurant has become a living testament to how a once-respected chain can fall disastrously short of expectations. My recent visit was nothing short of a nightmare. To start with, the service was abysmal. After being seated, my party and I waited an excruciating 40 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When the server finally arrived, she was clearly on something and seemed to forget our table existed more than once. We never even got a single refill, and our food took 2 hours to arrive despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. I was so thirsty and just done with waiting I sent my wife to the gas station down the road to pick up drinks to keep my thirst quenched.(He got back before the food showed up) It was baffling to see so many staff members milling about while our plates remained conspicuously absent. When the food finally arrived, it was a profound disappointment. The steak, which is supposed to be the star of the menu, was overcooked and tough as leather. I had ordered mine medium-rare, but it came out more like well-done. The sides were equally dreadful; the mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy, and the green beans seemed to be floating in a pool of grease. I’ve had better-quality food from a microwave at a gas station. The ambiance of the restaurant didn’t do anything to redeem the experience. The decor felt like it hadn’t been updated since the early 2000s, and the noise level was unbearable. It felt more like a chaotic food court than a place where you’d want to enjoy a meal. The tables were sticky, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It’s clear that maintaining a sanitary environment isn’t a priority here. At my table there were fries all over the ground before I got there and I was surprised they even had fries at the table to begin with. Additionally, when I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager, he was dismissive and unapologetic. Instead of addressing the issues or offering any form of compensation, he merely shrugged it off and gave a half-hearted “sorry about that” before returning to his desk. Overall, Texas Roadhouse in North Charleston is a colossal letdown. It’s clear that the management needs a serious overhaul, and the kitchen staff could use a wake-up call about what constitutes decent food preparation. Save yourself the frustration and money—there are countless other dining options that won’t leave you regretting every moment spent there. I will be taking my business to mcdonalds where they know how to treat a customer right and have some...

When we first arrived, we let the hostess know we were trying to call ahead to let them know we would need two high chairs but nobody answered. She ignored what we said as though it’s normal for them to not answer the phone. We were already on the waitlist but there was no option to let them know we needed them and I think that would’ve been important for them to know ahead of time for our party size and because they were busy. The hostess told us it’ll still be an extra 40-45min wait to be seated. It was busy so it wasn’t an issue. an hour passes and we go to ask about how much longer it will be. We were told that they were waiting to clean off our table because the kitchen was backed up. Honestly not something I wanted to hear. Maybe don’t tell people that and say the table is still being prepared? Anyway, we finally get seated. Had to ask for cutlery and plates. 😐 When we got our drinks, one of the cups had something in it like they didn’t clean it all the way. We ordered our food and expected a slight wait bc we had 8 meals. I ordered a burger medium well, it was well done when brought to me. I asked for no onions only bc I still wanted tomatoes and lettuce, I got a plain burger. My sister in law ordered chicken with mushrooms, and the chicken was pink. I also asked for mustard AND honey mustard, the waitress disregarded what I said entirely and only brought back honey mustard. Once she came back with it, we informed her that the chicken was pink and she went to get her manager Chris. When he first came to the table I got this ‘I don’t care’ attitude from him. The waitress had already taken her chicken to the back so I assumed he already knew what the issue was, but it wasn’t a big deal to tell him again what we saw. Chris tried to blame the lights for making her chicken pink , but if that were the case, the other meals that had chicken on our table would’ve also been pink but that wasn’t the case. We didn’t even get an apology from Chris for all of these things. We noticed that he was visiting a lot of tables today, so it was obvious we weren’t the only guests having issues. I love Texas Roadhouse, but this location put a really bad taste in my mouth. We decided to just pay for our meals and leave bc the service truly wasn’t up to par. Everybody seems like they don’t want to be there. We will...

We made the mistake of taking a large party here on a busy evening. Two and half hour wait but we waited as we had guests from out of town that wanted to eat here ( definitely not my first choice). There were 3 young ladies at the hostess station that took my info to be placed on the waiting list. She asked me how many in the party and then proceeded to let me know how the notification system works. At NO time did she nor the other two ladies tell me that our party of 11 would not be able to sit together or that they're not allowed to move tables (meanwhile the tables are kind of close so I don't know what difference it makes whether they have to move 1 table 2 inches closer) While we waited I called Longhorns to see how long their wait was. The young lady advised of the wait time and that we would be a 2 separate tables. Should've gone to Longhorns. The food is better and has better options. The only good thing that came from Texas Roadhouse was the bread and the server Candice who was absolutely the best! Very attentive and genuinely pleasant. She fought for us to be able to sit together after we were repeatedly told no. We all understand rules but we also understand accommodation and it's not like we demanded an entire section. The table they put us at sat 8..all we needed was 3 addtl seats. Candice was able to get us a booth right next to our table and said she didn't mind taking our group. We definitely made sure she wasn't going to get in trouble for doing so because even a mgr said no and didn't even bother to come explain why (and don't say they have better things to do because in the service industry customer service takes priority). There were 3 additional tables in the section that were available but they refused to let us sit together and said if the tables are assigned they cant unassign them. Wth kind of system is that????!!! Also why ask how someone wants their steak cooked if you're not going to give it to them the way they asked? We asked for well done and got medium rare. That's not the same thing smh. Candice was this place's only saving grace. You best believe my money won't be spent here again. Spent almost $300 in this place and had to fight to get 3 seats. The math just isn't adding up and not worth the annoyance AND the food wasn't that great. My mom ended up throwing hers...
