On Saturday, March 8, 2025, I had a 9 a.m. hair appointment. I had spoken to the owner beforehand to ensure I was on the schedule for the right time. Saturday was supposed to be my self-care day as a new mom, which is something I really value. When I arrived, the salon wasn't open on time, and the owner had completely forgotten about my appointment. I finally got into her chair around 10 a.m. She had done my hair previously and did a great job, but that time was just a solid color (copper brown), so keep that in mind. This time, however, I asked for highlights, specifically the exact style from a picture I showed her. I told her it was for my 6-month photo shoot with my son and requested that she take her time, as it was an important occasion for me. While I was in her chair, she kept asking me, "Do you want bleach here or there?" Iām not a hair expert, and if that was going to be the process, I couldāve just done my hair at home myself because the result looked messy. As a new mom, I can't just fix my own hair when I have a baby to care for. It's unrealistic to expect me to do that, and frankly, the owner wasted both my time and my money. I expressed my concerns and requested a partial refund since I paid $220 for the service, but I never received a response. The salon is scheduled to open at 8:00 AM, and I had an appointment set for 9:00 AM on Saturday. I arrived early, at 8:30 AM, only to find that the salon was not yet open. I waited in the parking lot until the employee arrived at 8:50 AM. Upon entering the salon, I discovered there were two other customers with 9:00 AM appointments as well. To my surprise, the owner, Luptia, had not arrived yet. She showed up at 9:00 AM but had apparently forgotten to add me to the schedule. Instead, she took another client, an elderly woman, for a haircut that took 30 minutes. As a result, I didnāt get into the chair until around 10:00 AM.
When I book an appointment for 9:00 AM, I expect to be seen promptly at that time. Itās the basic standard of respect for your customersā time as a business owner.
Additionally, both Luptia and her employee were disorganized, scrambling around looking for supplies. It would be more professional to arrive early and have everything prepared for the day ahead.
